EC's Going For It

Missed a phone call from the chassis shop Friday afternoon. Don't know if they were calling to say my truck was done or if it needed other stuff but I pulled an all nighter to make an Aldi run since I had literally zero food in the house then fell asleep.

I can't function after an all nighter like I used to.

I'm at a little bit of a crossroads with the pickup. I don't need a new windshield in the sense of it's not cracked or broken but I want a new windshield because it doesn't have the best clarity and whoever installed it used some shitty sealant that gets gooey in the heat and it leaks.

My inspection is due next month which means it's a good time because it'll get a new sticker, and it's extra cost to replace a sticker.

I also want to install one of my better dash cameras because they use adhesive mounts instead of a suction cup. They're basically a one and done. I tried to salvage the one from the Mack and it didn't go well.

Chassis shop said the kingpins were smooth sailing to replace and it didn't need anything else.Axle was in good shape bore-wise and everything is right on the money and I don't need any new steering parts. They pulled my hubs and checked the bearings and all that so the only extra parts cost was the wheel seals, making my bill as low as it could possibly be. My tires are wearing perfectly even except one side is 1/32 more worn than the other. I don't know why but I also don't know that these tires weren't swiped from other trucks by the dealer. I'll swap them out and see if they even out.

They said my kingpins still could have gone a little longer but it would be a judgement call at an inspection. I'd rather just have them rock solid with no questions.

It didn't lose significant coolant for the chassis shop so my mom taxied me there to pick it up and followed me straight to the dealer then brought me home. Not sure when they'll get it in but it doesn't do me any good to have it sitting here at the house.

They need to figure out my coolant loss (I won't call it a leak yet) and my rough running under load. It could be the EGR causing both issues. But they know more than I do about these trucks. I said this already but I'm recapping for my own good as well.
