Still no dice on that second pin. It's solid as F and I went destructive mode. Killed two air hammer bits in the process.
Gave up and swapped the 5th wheel off the day cab. Took me a little under 2 hours.
I should have accepted the loss of rise in the first place. I didn't buy or borrow any lifting equipment. I slid the 5th wheel off the sleeper onto my pickup tailgate, then dumped it over where it'll be grabbed later as scrap. Then I slid the 5th wheel off the day cab onto the tailgate, then used the come along to slide it up onto the sleeper. Once I got over the drop part of the frame rails I could slide it into place.
So yeah 4 weeks of drama for nuffin'
Oh well. Live and learn. I'm gonna see if fleet pride will accept this new plate as a return.
I dont see myself buying a bracket for it at this point.
