Got the elbow back all cleaned up. He tried to turn it only to find the entire piece is so out of round and offset, he'd have taken too much material off. But he did get it cleaned up and usable.
Put on new boots and clamps. Idled up and boosting about 8 psi, no leaks. Time will tell now.
Pro tip of the day.....
Talking to one tech, use hair spray and stay the inside of the boots. It will let things slip on easier and dries to a tacky surface for better adhesion and sealing.
Besides. I'm already making a plate I can put onto the turbo side and secure with the v-band clamp.
Leaves the entire system intact to test everything at a full 45 psi with no danger of a plug coming out. Also makes it easier to see/hear any leaks when you spray everything with Windex when the engine isn't running
Same as what I had for my series 60. This particular one also works for the isx engines.
