Remove the clamp separate the top pipe and cut the bottom off then re assemble. There is no need to buy a new pipe.
I say chop it, I have said chop it before and gotten my head bitten off. But chop it just the same.

I had always planned on chopping it. Exactly as you said.
When I asked last week the cost of a replacement pipe though and the answer was $1100 just for the tailpipe it gave me pause.
I don't think it was the comment of chopping it that was the issue.
It was the delivery of the message.
Namely if I didn't chop it, I was less than worthy to be considered a flatbedder.

Had other tasks I've been focusing on other than making the fully functional exhaust esthetically pleasing.
Like the minor repairs after a deer strike at 65 mph and trying to fix a persistent air induction leak that's been setting troublecodes and has now put me in a shop for 9 days out of 8 weeks.
That stupidness right now has cost me over $2000.

The parts guys were double and triple checking to see if they were looking at it correctly too.
Even they thought it was nuts
Another example of stupidity in pricing....
Volvo wants $354 EACH shelf for the cabin I made them for $45 for all three.

Never said that.
I maintain that I am not a fan of the Volvo V series conventional. However if I had to use one for the places I go. The skirts would be removed and the stack 5” above the midroof.
I am also not a fan of an autoshift in any truck.
These are my opinions, I have maintained they are my opinions. I never said you were any less of a worker. And even complimented you on having a successful business. The next one of these comments directed at me, will be met in a less civil manner.

Nope.
I went out yesterday after dropping over $2000 in the past 6 weeks and spending 7 days in the shop for ghost codes setting in the truck. All to be told they can't find any problems.
Saturday, my gut was telling me I had a boost leak and sure as shit it was leaking the same place as last month.
I am waiting for the old turbo elbow to get turned and cleaned up on a lathe to remove the shoulder from a bad cast line.
That step is 3/32". About half the thickness of the silicone boot for the CAC pipe. Until it's cleaned up, I can't put it back together with new boots and clamps. Supposedly I will get it yet tonight.

However he talked that shit everywhere. You wanna yank a box that’s your business. I wanna pull a flat that’s mine.
In the “end” we all drive a truck, and in my opinion there are some trucks I don’t like, also my opinion there are people I don’t like. There’s always gonna be someone out there who doesn’t like you for something too fat too thin, too gay too straight, too young too old, too smart too dumb. Ect ect. I don’t dislike or think less of a person because of the truck they choose to drive or are required to drive by their company.
That being said, entities again should stop accusing me of being otherwise. Just because I think a Volvo is a cheap piece of shit doesn’t mean that I think the person driving it is automatically trash.
And just because someone tries to do something different than the way I would do it doesn’t make them wrong or mean their gonna fail.
