Worst truckstop ever?

You should know that most truckstop stafff are lazy and could care less about the truck drivers.Last time I was at the J they had just got it built.Was'nt bad then.But it's near the border need I say more.

I am shocked to see no one has mentioned the J in Laredo. The resteraunt blows dead bears and sucks farts from dead chickens, the restrooms are more disgusting than any J I have ever been to as well. I went to the manager there 6 times in 4 days to tell him there was no paper (hand towels or butt wipe) in EITHER men's room. I can't understand how he keeps his job. If the place didn't sell beer and have free parking, I wouldn't go near it! lol

I hate truckstops and always will.I just use em for fuel and a place to sleep.I dont even do laundry at a truckstop.I drop the trl and bobtail to the nearest laundromat.

The J is the newest one in Laredo, Should have been there when there was only one truck stop (exit 3), that place was nasty, nasty and nasty, that was before NAFTA, when they still used burro's to get around(I'm kidding, but not by much)

You must be talking about the good old Santa Maria! I take my old tires there to sell to their shop. That place is rough as hell, I wouldn't eat there even if it was straight out of the delivery truck.

The TA across from the J in Laredo is actually squeaky clean, only they charge for parking and dont sell beer!

The last number of years, when I went to Laredo, I was leased to a company that had terminals there(M.S. Carriers, ATS then Celadon), and I rarely left the yard, except to eat,, I had my truck broken into once down there, they took everything, including my dirty clothes, the last number of years, Laredo has just gotten to big and to filthy to go out and enjoy much

Yes, but the people used to be friendly, and you were allowed to bobtail around town or to the border to walk across and go shopping, now, the people despise truckers, 95% of the town is off limits and don't even think of parking near the border crossing

Laredo is DESPERATELY trying to be more cosmopolitan. They even have a hockey team (hahahahaha!!!) and a Symphony Orchestra. But it will never be far from it's roots as a dumpy border town.

I'm actually starting to hate Love's the most. The showers are like something you'd see in a county jail. Just a plain, stark metal pipe sticking out of the wall with minimum effort toward hospitality.

They usually sell beer though.

i think this is the same place i used to stop years ago under a diffrent name maybe. went in on a friday night and when i went back thru sunday night the same turd was still floatin in stall #3. and if your wondering how i know this, who ever dropped it was eatin peanuts and bleeding internaly.

The T/A is the newest one, I had it backwards, opened up across the way from the J, on the other side of 35 from the pilot

Hmmm... you have been around for a while... Used to grab "mother" and a spare clip before I got off the beltway exit... they averaged 4 killings a week... if you didn't see what you were looking for... just wait a few minutes.

Also do you remember "Lasleys" in San Leandro, CA? built on an old garbage dump? had to scrape the grease off the inside of the restaurant windows just to see out ?

or The old Beacon in Fresno..... girls worked in shifts same as Cherry Ave. in Fontana, CA

Or how about the old 76 in Blythe CA.. got ran out of there for catching the cockroaches in the dining area and pouring Hershey's syrup over them... tasted better than what the kitchen produced... at least we knew that they were "fresh"!!!!

And let's not EVER forget Rube's in NJ.. Give the BIG black guy with the trench coat & standing @ the entrance to the store a $20,, You & your truck was never bothered... however if you didn't... might have nuthin left but the frame when you returned to your truck
