Worst truckstop ever?

i think this is the same place i used to stop years ago under a diffrent name maybe. went in on a friday night and when i went back thru sunday night the same turd was still floatin in stall #3. and if your wondering how i know this, who ever dropped it was eatin peanuts and bleeding internaly.

Turd archeology.

ice hockey in laredo,tx? it was probably asphalt spray painted white!

Hmmmm. . . . street hockey!

Be the place to go in July and August when south Texas is just a few degrees cooler then actual fire

It would take a serious A/C system to keep the building cool enough that the ice wouldn't melt.

Hmmm... you have been around for a while... Used to grab "mother" and a spare clip before I got off the beltway exit... they averaged 4 killings a week... if you didn't see what you were looking for... just wait a few minutes.

Also do you remember "Lasleys" in San Leandro, CA? built on an old garbage dump? had to scrape the grease off the inside of the restaurant windows just to see out ?

or The old Beacon in Fresno..... girls worked in shifts same as Cherry Ave. in Fontana, CA

Or how about the old 76 in Blythe CA.. got ran out of there for catching the cockroaches in the dining area and pouring Hershey's syrup over them... tasted better than what the kitchen produced... at least we knew that they were "fresh"!!!!

And let's not EVER forget Rube's in NJ.. Give the BIG black guy with the trench coat & standing @ the entrance to the store a $20,, You & your truck was never bothered... however if you didn't... might have nuthin left but the frame when you returned to your truck

good times they were LOL

Times have changed indeed.

The "J" in kansas, city, mo.. don't even try to get an oversize in there to fuel... & no restaurant, gnarly showers, and good luck trying to park anywhere on their lot without fearing that you will get hit.

& the J in Gillette, WY ain't much better for oversize loads :nono:

Was at that J in Gillette a few years back, when apparently they got a bunch of water in their fuel, it was the middle of winter and there were more then a few unhappy drivers frozen up on the side of the road.

Amen brother! That J in KC is a dump in the same league as the J in Dallas and the AM Best at Dallas Pike in West Virginia. And you hit the nail on the head as far as parking goes. I stopped there once and will not ever again unless I absolutely can't get to some other place for fuel, and I will never (I know, never say never!) stay overnight there.

I've deffinately seen better truckstops.I'm at Pams truckstop in Elkmont,AL.The parking lot is nothing but a muddy pothole MESS but not where the cars park, they have a nice cement lot.Goes to show me what this truckstop thinks of truckers. Can't say much for the waitresses either, dumpy with a pissy personality to boot.Chairs and booths are taped with duct tape.Someone ordered a piece of pie,the waitress dropped the spactula on the floor, she picked it up wipe the spatula on her stained greasy dirty tshirt and reused it.I got a tbone to go and before she finished writing my order down,I told her I suddenly lost my appetite and told her the reason why then walked out.

One more to mention, Liberty truck stop in WV. I stopped there a couple years back and when I went inside, the things that I saw, will probably stick with me a lifetime, now, the people were great, the facility on the other hand, left plenty to be desired! While I was inside getting ready to leave, there came a pretty good rain storm, and the buliding itself was flooding pretty rapidly. Instead of trying to find mops or even brooms to try to push the water out, these people took off their shoes, rolled their pants up and started trying to kick the water out!!!! I was laughing so hard I nearly pee'd my pants, but the best part was when they looked at me and told me that they had to try to get the water out as quick as possible because they were afraid it would get to and short out the tanning bed they had in the back!! They actually had a tanning bed in the shower area for the drivers! Not really the worst truck stop, but certainly doesn't rank up there on my list of places I just HAVE to stop again. Unless it's raining and I need a laugh.

We load quite a bit down in Ravenswood, WV. and I stop there just for kicks.. to see what is the latest "Thing" to do.... & cheep entertainment too boot!
It's WV. after all!

And here I sit, at the Love's in Ripley.

Actually, I am in town at the laundromat. I figured since I was just sittin' around and killing brain cells I might as well make myself useful!

Yes, the Liberty Truck stop at exit 170 off of I-77 in Parkersburg. They even have their own porn shop.

What else do you need?

Is it all bad?

What about these stops?

The Lodi Travel Center in Lodi, Ohio, offers drivers a Starbucks so that they can get a venti caramel macchiato or Columbian espresso to help stay awake for the long drive to come.

The Boz Bros. Truck Stop in New Lisbon, Wisconsin, has a terrific restaurant with great down-home cooking (check out the biscuits!).

Drivers know there's little worse than driving for 10 or more hours straight as far as wear and tear on a body is concerned. That's why the Highlands Petro Truck Stop's on-duty chiropractor is such a Godsend. The Racine, Wisconsin, stop has a chiropractor on hand to adjust and manipulate backs, buttocks and hamstrings.

Drivers eager to sweet talk Lady Luck should check out the Alamo Plaza Travel Center in Sparks, Nevada. The truck stop sports a 12,000-square-foot casino with more than 260 slot machines, blackjack tables and keno games. All this is in addition to a great restaurant, Petro Lube Truck, tire and lube bay and a Petro travel store.

Finally, the world's largest truck stop, the Iowa 80 in Walcott, Iowa, offers drivers space for 800 rigs, a 350-seat restaurant (with a 50-foot long salad bar!), private showers, barbers and even dental services. There's also a large lounge that offers weary road warriors leather chairs before a fireplace.

I think there is a thread for the good truck stops.

View it here: http://www.truckersforum.net/forum/f17/your-favorite-truckstop-867/

But human nature being what it is, people would rather focus on the negative.

I have to write about this one.I stopped at the j in clear brook.VA,I went in had a great dinner of course i had my glasses off as my eyes needed the break. When i had finished my dinner i went outside to enjoy an after dinner smoke. When i saw some wild life around the bushes,I thought to myself how cute little squirells playing.Like i said i had my glasses off so i went to take a closer look.It was long tailed rats running around with no fear of ppl.Kinda makes me think if the rats are outside they must be in and out of the restaurant. And as i was up close they had no fear of ppl.It took me about 3 days before i was able to eat agian

I'll remember not to go to that J ever.

Well I am glad to read they closed down the TA in Conley, GA on the south side of the loop. A prostitute there actually jumped out the back of a car, jumped up onto my truck, reached in and grabbed me you-know-where.

I was also approached by a lot lizard at the TA in Alburquerque.

I never had any problems the one time I was at the TA in Fontana, CA. I was at the one on the south side of the interstate, not sure if the one on the other side is any better.

The Pilot at exit 4 on the Indy loop is pretty darn small.

Here is the one that takes the cake for me. I don't remember exactly where it was, but it was on I45? between Dallas and Houston. It was an independent stop, but the place was crawling with crickets. They were in the showers, sinks, bathrooms, outside, everywhere, it was disgusting. I took a shower there but I still felt dirty when I was done. The dirt parking lot was horrible, the cement on the fuel bays was cracked and caved in, and the fuel pump was so slow, it took me literally 20 minutes to fuel up both sides. It was on the east side of the interstate, and I dont remember what exit, or the name of the town, or the name of the place.

Has anyone else ever been there???

Sounds like my type of girl, Did you get her number???

Sitting at a really crappy piss infested lot in a so called truck stop off I 4 in florida off exit 44. cant remember the name off hand but its right across from the Loves travel center. polk city truck stop thats it. the lot just reeks of urine , thankfully it didnt rain last night. inside is a little run down and bathrooms , well lets just sy you can feel the diseases attacking you as you walk in. yeah we walk to the loves across the street to tinkle or poo. oh and there is a subway inside to eat. thats right another stinking subway. only good side this place has is it sells beer.

I'll take Subway any day or night. I'd rather be able to get a $5 footlong with the toppings and bread that I choose, than get a shitty submarine sandwhich half the size for $3.99 and it's been sitting there for a day or 3. Or 4. Truckstops are overpriced, especially these 24/7 Truckstops in Kansas. I wont buy anything from there again. Once I make a little more money, I'm gonna buy one of those fridges that plug into the cigarette lighter. Then I'll stock it with bread, lunchmeat, lettuce, mustard, couple other things, Ill buy a case of water, some cookies, and I'll be eating as cheap as possible. Plus, I can put all the shit right there in the front so I can make myself a sammich while I'm dr......parked.....yeah, that's it. :-)
