The War Path

I was going to post a funny picture of Injun as a space girl.

I typed this into Google and immediately got distracted "Space girls"

just install a real-time hyperspace link from your new planets admin server to a server on earth somewhere, then you can just hook up google if you need to learn something.

Alternatively, run out a fibre optic cable behind you as you fly.
No the idea is to permanently sever ties with Earth. No return, no communication, nothing. This is so the generations born on the new planet will never know about Earth or the evils in this world and a new & better society can be created. Certain technologies that exist on Earth will intentionally be left behind. No nuclear bombs, no nuclear power plants, not even atom splitting.

This is the original PM message I sent to Skateboard yesterday on this topic:

If you had some kind of magic spacecraft that could quickly travel to another galaxy to where there's an Earth-like world that only has animals that are less intelligent than humans, so you're at the top of the food chain as soon as you get there just like humans are here, ...

And your plan was to never contact Earth ever again & start a new civilization & your ship was big enough to bring lots of machinery, food supplies, people you've selected carefully for their physical & intellectual traits for breeding purposes, and like a thousand hard drives full of information about everything, ..

How long do you think it would take you just to gather all of the information mankind has compiled on all the relevant subjects you'd want to bring that knowledge with you? Medical science, what kind of plant life (on Earth of course) can be eaten or used for medicine so the native species can be compared to earth species to accelerate the learning process when the new planet's plant life is studied, how to build stuff, how to find resources, how to mine & smelt metals & make castings & machine those castings into replacement parts for your machines as they age & wear out, ..

And what kind of knowledge or information would you intentionally NOT bring with you? For example, on a new world, starting out like cave men except with as much Earth technology as you can bring with, and you're the King or supreme leader of these people you brought with you, would you purposely exclude nuclear bomb technology & pass a law that all children born on the new planet will NEVER be told that splitting atoms is possible?

Would you educate the children born on that planet about Earth, or where their ancestors came from, or pass a law that prohibits telling them about Earth so they never learn about all the evils of this world and remain innocent of that knowledge?

I'd tell 'em. Those who do not know their history are bound to repeat it.

Especially since you're taking a commie with you.

I'm back at Wells, NV tonight. Not at the hoochie-house. I'm at the old 4-Way, "new" Petro. Non-union Hostess Donettes are yummy.

Earth history was full of wars because there were many different countries, different religions, different languages, different races, etc. The Chinese & the European white men both set out to take over the world at one point or another.

Expansion of empires encountered primitive native tribes & there were wars to wipe them out & take their land.

There were was between even similar types of societies, who had nothing to fight over except land or resources.

Well if a new society of carefully chosen people were settling a new planet and there are no other intelligent species such as humans who were there first (no natives) and everybody arriving on that space ship was of the same race & religion & spoke the same language & there was a single government & everyone can go forth & multiply while maintaining the same bonds, how would it turn out?

Look at the United States. With the exception of having natives to deal with, it was pretty much a bunch of people from the same part of Europe who came & it was basically a land-grabbing free-for-all. Multiple colonies & states were created, and there were wars among & directly with the countries they came from, but in this case the country (planet) we came from wouldn't even know where we went so they couldn't send NASA out to come bully us & make us pay taxes on intergalactic tea.

And with Skateboard being a commie, that'll be fine at first. He'll be long dead by the time the society is large enough that 100% pure communism no longer works. The best economic system for a small, isolated civilization consisting of people who are 100% dependent on one other's contributions, is communism. There would be no monetary system to start with & it wouldn't even matter. The guys who are building the shelters won't have time to study the plant life to figure out what we can eat. The botanists who are doing that, won't be able to operate the greenhouses containing earth soil to produce the edible plant species brought from Earth for food. So others will have to work in the greenhouses to feed everyone while the botanists are learning which native species we can eat, and how to grow them. The guys raising the cows we brought from Earth so we can have meat until the biologists can figure out what native animals we can eat, will have to feed everybody with meat until the biologists finish their work. The explorers will be wandering around the planet in some kind of aircraft to study the geography, so they will have to keep coming back for food & fuel that was produced by others. Communism is the only way that would work.

But once a bigger civilization develops, and the population is high enough that the actions & productivity of each individual person can't be monitored by everyone else, you'll end up with lazy people mooching off others & greedy authority figures hoarding supplies & stuff so at that point a better system like capitalism will have to be introduced, so each person doesn't get everything for free & has to produce something in exchange for money to use to buy the goods & services of others.

However a system of representation with checks & balances for the other functions of government, along with a permanent judicial system can be introduced immediately.

Can I assume that you've cleared this intergalactic new world order with Doctor Science? His first three segments are spot on in addressing the plans I've seen here. And the fourth ain't bad also.

You, being the Duck and all, probably have an inside track on the mysteries and wonders you're discussing. And the Duck's Breath Mystery Theater should be in character.

Communisim? No, Autocracy is better. With communism you still have politics, idealism, backstabbing and political betrayal amidst the administrators.

Autocracy or despotism, replaced by Feudalism and Absolute Monarchy, then Constitutional Monarchy is the natural progression of civilization, with an aberration of Republic-ism cropping up now and again.

Republics are simply monarchies with disposable kings selected by popularity contest, not merit and not trained to the job.

Not talking about today's left-wing communism. I'm talking about the "commune" stuff the hippies tried & failed to work out in the 60's. They failed because they were lazy worthless drug-addict idiots. And I was only referring to the economic system in which there is no currency. It doesn't make any sense to have a monetary system in what's basically an outpost with 100 people.

...so, I'm in getting some breakfast and there's this poor guy sitting with two women. They're all in the same generation as Duck's Geezer. The one woman went on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about some wedding. The bride forgot her flowers and the dress was blah blah blah there were stairs yap yap yap yap yap, somebody brought blab blab blab blab blab, groom, preacher.....Poor guy was in agony.

Then, one of his friends came in and now he gets to talk about hunting. And I get to hear about something other than the color of the cake and who tripped on the steps to the reception hall.

What the hell is it with women?

I got the ribeye and eggs with pancakes. Eggs, potatoes and pancakes were perfect. The steak had the flavor and consistency of Spam. I hope that changes when the remodel is done and this is an Iron Skillet.

Seems the holdup on the remodel is getting permits from the city. A hoochie-house has no problem getting permits. A restaurant, on the other hand.... Guess we can see where the priorities are here.

But what if the hoochie-house doesn't need any permits? From your comment I infer that the hoochie-house is not on the radar screen of the local officials. And speaking as an old city and borough (in Alaska we have boroughs instead of counties and of course most are disfunctional) executive, what's with a government that doesn't mess with a perfectly respectable business such as a hoochie-house? I say impeach every one of them from the mayor to the dogcatcher for not messing up something that appears to work and causes no apparent harm. The Honorable Harry Reid will fix 'em when he finds out. He'll get them "workers" and "patrons" free health care...or something. He'll even pay for it with an airbag tax on trucks. Kind of like an "Airbags for Windbags" tax.

I believe Bella's Hacienda is a registered and licensed hoochie-house. I have no problem with legal prostitution. Far as I see it, those ladies provide a public service. If they can make a good living at it, more power to 'em. It's no different, IMO, than a woman marrying for money. Only difference is the one who married for it has to sleep with the same boring, boorish, selfish jerk every night and has to act "respectable." Women in a legal prostitution business get to have a lot more fun. Hell, I'd probably join 'em if I was a lot younger and more desireable. Probably be a waste of time now that I'm an old bag in my 40s.

Point is, I don't think Bella's is an under-the-radar operation.

That almost sounds as bad as actually having to attend the wedding. I mostly RSVP NO! How come you are not attending our wedding 6 months from now? Because I am going to be on a hot load that absolutely must get there 6 months from now. LOL

Can't argue with your view of hoochie houses and the profession.

You note that you're an undesirable "old bag". Regardless of the accuracy of that statement, that observation tends to illustrate the perversity of males. Males die off sooner so it seems that they should attempt to cohabit (ain't that diplomatic?) with women older than themselves. Were that the case, couples could die off fairly close together in time instead of the geezer leaving his sweet young thing to make it on her own for years without some support. But there's not much logic to human relationships. Evolutionary biologists have a contrary opinion, but I'm just talking about such a little thing as responsibility -- not that I want to be responsible.

It sees like the owners of the planned Iron Skillet might want to consult with the Bella's folks and find out how Bella's isn't hassled. Probably be cheaper than paying lawyers.

Going to Bella's....hiring a lawyer...

Same results either way, only Bella's technique is more enjoyable.
