Moving again...

Yeah we have the deposit here. But right up until the closing day people can walk away. You can take them to court and meanwhile your paying the taxes, HOA fees, paying for lawn maintenance (I am 700 mikes away) worried someone is going to shack up on the property because then you have to go to court to get them evicted..........
That's a lot of mikes. How many sinisters is that?

That's the beauty of living in New Mexico vs. California.
I believe her.
Ok I'm not saying I don't believe her. I forgot to post this. But just for giggles one night I looked at some houses in Maine to see what the taxes are on them and even they were more taxes than what she pays... And all of us knows Maine is poor state and we all know that califorina a high dollar state so they can spend it on b's like bullet trains bla bla bla complete nonsense

If I have read Ms. @(((ME))) correctly, she lives in a piece of ground outside of town in a comfortable travel trailer.

Friend of mine had an acre of land in New Mexico somewhere that he paid $5 per year tax on. It was a bare bit of real estate in the middle of nowhere that he bought for $1,000. Absolutely worthless dirt, but it was his as long as he paid that $5/year.

Travel trailers do not add any value to land. If (((ME))) is paying $100/year tax for her land, it's probably a pretty decent piece and in a not bad location. The improvements are utilities to the parcel and maybe a shed.

You cannot fairly weigh taxation in New Mexico against taxation in Maine ...and certainly not against California.

NM is very popular on a couple experimental building foums I joined.
Some of the people on there bought plots in NM for a hundred dollars per acre.

I am a odd ball thinker. I worked hard all my life so come by what I own the honest way. If I was to find a man who even think of pampering me I would just up and kill over then there would be a need for a funeral which is all ready paid in full for from the plot, headstone already standing in place waiting for me. Pamper is not in my DNA.

I once wrote in here I lived in a house that was over 100 yrs old and made of rock.Along with this house is six acres of land two Active water wells(however I do use city water) There is three separate electric, gas, water improvements with the land. which sits in heavy industrial area between two major highways.

Now about my odd ball thinking...Everything else I own sits on wheels. Why you might ask..Answer should I ever want to move some of my labors can be taken with me. This includes several large mobile homes along with campers and other equipment.

All that can be taxed is the house and the land.

Your friend that bought land in New Mexico was very wise to buy it because land is not manufactured.

Not sure but think you probably referring to Rio Rancho which is now a pretty large city.
The data, from the 2013 five-year American Community Survey, shows Rio Rancho with an estimated population of 89,098, up from 51,765 recorded during the 2000 decennial census. Even more impressive is Rio Rancho's growth on the national scale: the city is in the top 4 percent of fastest-growing cities.Dec 9, 2014

Rio Rancho used to be cheaper than heck, and considered a long commute from Albuquerque. Now it is just another neighborhood.

If I was looking at land in New Mexico I would be down by Ruidoso, or if you could find some north of Grants, Gallup area but a lot of that is Res land.

East of Farmington is nice, as well as anywhere near Raton but it gets pricey again up there. The backside of Sandia and Manzano is still relatively cheap if you want to stay near Albuquerque or Santa Fe.

hurricane Ophelia is heading up towards @Geranimojess way, but supposed to fizzle out to a tropical storm

I've let more wind go in the Toilet.......by the time the Hurricane reached the North West it had fizzled out to a gentle Breeze but that's not taking away from the Southern end of the Country where I'm heading for....Aideen had her Electricity and Water knocked out and Trees uprooted and a few Tiles whipped from her Roof...they had to drive to Mallow with the Children to get their Breakfast...other Neighbouring Counties...Wexford-Waterford-Kerry - Limerick-Clare all the way up the Western Board towards Galway and Mayo also suffered...but for some reason it veered away from Sligo before turning back and ravaging parts of Donegal { we're between Mayo and Donegal } It left at about Midnight and headed towards Scotland...

The damage was not as bad as we were expecting...but all Schools in the Country were closed as a precaution and Public Transport was also grounded as were Flights...everyone heeded advice and remained indoors...3 People were killed...no Injuries and no one reported missing { still 3 too many }...not something I'd like to experience Annually...but it does bring Home the terror People experience in these Hurricane Countries...
