i have been to the campbell soup place to drop off a ld but guess i didnt pay to much attention to the BP. heck i didnt even know there was anything in front of that place.
as for the TA in the loop well thats a different story. anything in the loop is bad. its so bad covenant will not allow any of there drivers stop anywhere near that place. I keep getting messages on the QC stateing that it is against company policy to park within 20 miles of the loop.

Isn't this the one with the barely accessible Fuel pumps and the ACROSS THE STREET parking under the every 15 minutes Commuter Train??

The TRASH AMERICA at Bonnie View Rd, x 472, I-20, Dollass.
The "usa" truck SLOP stop at x 470, Lancaster Rd., Dollass is comparitively if not WORSE than the t. a. just down the big road.
I was at the usa truck slop for about 20 minutes when an UGLY black girl (or something) knocked on my passenger door, and after a second and LOUD NO, it went away. I then moved to the CLEANER peelot south of the big road at the same exit. It's like 2 different areas at b1/2 mile separation.

I FLAT REFUSE to stop at ANY site in West Memphis, AR.
That place was a dump in '95 when I drove a 4 wheeler cross country.
I NEVER need fuel that badly nor anything else.
East Bound on I-40 just after the 40/55 split, I drove one night and it started to smell like someone had emptied several Out Houses.
The putrid stench abated when I got to Old Man River.
Memphis smelled like a Virgins bath house (in comparison), yet I didn't stop.
I dont know about the coliseum, but I think that i the one I remember. I was across-the-treet parking under an overpass. No restaurant and not much else.
The only other bad ones I remember were along TX I35 heading to Laredo. I remember stopping at 1, saw how bad the lot was, moved to another one, saw how bad the lot was, went to another.... They were all mom and pops, and all had lots like they were bombing practice ranges. They were way worse than the one in Bollingbrook IL and the Gary TA. I hope things have improved with time. I havent been down that way lately.
I was in Laredo a coupla months ago and the Mom-n-Pops were the same if not worse. I've done the same as you, hunting for a decent place where none could be found along I-35, except the occasional "rest area" otherwise designed as a Picnic Area. Some ramps afford parking for the adventurers!!
With these "new" drivers nowadays emptying their coolers on Fuel Islands, throwing their trash where ever they please and generally being pests and annoyances, it is no surprise to me that the Mom-n-Pop shops refuse to address their decrepit parking areas for Trucks.
I certainly would NOT provide decent parking areas or an area just so I could be rewarded by slobs.
The t. a. in Jacksonville, FloriDUH on I-95 on the back row is a prime example of a scum infested DUMP, yet drivers KEEP PARKING in this "row" because of lack of Truck parking in FloriDUH when/where/if at all.
Truckers USED TO BE referred to as KNIGHTS OF THE ROAD where for the last ten years we're seen as slobs.
I've been a Driver since late '98 and I've only seen this "profession" decline yearly if not monthly.

I see it as another example of the "broken window syndrome". A trashy lot invites more trash being thrown onto it. Maybe if the truckstops monitored their radio, then why not report the driver that trashes their lot with pallets, etc. I dont mind dropping a dime on them. If these slobs get kicked off the lot, they'd learn real quick not to dump their trash.
Another thing that would help is in having more trash cans. Put more out, and they do get used.
Dont you just hate those silly picnic areas? Has anyone ever seen people having a picnic there? I haven't. Who in their right mind wants to have a picnic that close to the highway?

I travel TX alot I do see Mexicans having picnics in the picnic areas, but at night they are just truck sleeping areas. Alot of the rest areas on Hwy 287 Ft Worth to Amarillo are really nice and have wireless internet. Some of the I 35 stops have gotten kinda bad, but if you ask the Mom & Pop are from India or Pakistan. The Pilot in Ft Worth is OK has an IHOP and Idle Air. Worst stop: on top of the hill west of Albuquerue NM. Beautiful view at night, BIG holes, nasty whores, no food, dirty nasty restrooms. Just keep going west to one of the casinos. Or east to Moriarity. And the Loves downtown Albuquerque? Dont even try getting in and out of that hole.

all you need is a pair of pliers to grab the black knob on the triangle window and turn it. there is also a hole on some models underneath the door that can be used to get into also. you can prevent the window break in though. they make window locks for the triangle window and they are available in all truck stops. i used them and they are pretty cheap esp. when you subtract the cost from items lost from a break in.
first of all, i know how to open that window. ive done it several times. second, pliars have NEVER worked for me for it. i use paper clips, the big huge ones. i've NEVER seen these window locks, but ive had several people tell me about it before. can you show me a pic?
