What scares you, be honest here, in anything, not just trucking

I’m definitely one who has always been arachnophobic.
When I was about 4 yrs old I was running around in the garden. I ran up one of the rows of corn and right into one of the giant yellow and black spiders. The web wrapped around my head and I could feel the spider on my face. It was huge. I fell down and couldn't scream. I cried and wet my pants. It still remember how scared I was to this day. My heart was pounding out of my chest. Since that day when I see a spider I get cold chills. Even pictures of them get me. Almost 40 years later I will kill them now instead of screaming like a girl and running.

Long ago.....at one time had a number of animals to feed and care for on this place I call a nest....one morning put on my feeding gear to go out and feed them....it had snowed .....as i walked along under the eves of one of the shed with a can of corn in hand .... i felt something on my shoulder....thinking it was a clump of snow falling off the shed....until it started working it way off my shoulder and down my arm to the feed can it was nothing but a hungry bird. That same morning going into the rabbit pens to feed a mouse tried to hitch a ride on my pant leg....first I brushed it off but it came right back I final grabbed it with my gloved hand and said now listen you lil pecker head it cold out here and this not going to work...pitching it in a bank of snow. Now if that mouse had been in my living quarter i probably beat it to death with a fly swatter as I do the same thing with spiders with no remorse. I have more patience with critters then I do with humans...

That's different.
No not really different.....You truckers do it every time you take your rings out with a load. You manage to come across a crazy human. Look how you have to secure your rigs when you shut down for the shift. Well heck, even the showers are dangerous with germs left behind by a human....and the fuel isles too...gun toting nuts....drivers that come up missing truck found but not the driver....be ever alert of your surroundings this country full of nut cases.

Yeah I deal with zero of that. I mean I gotta fuel but it's like 10 minutes and gone. Unless I need to poo.

^^ I was driving behind this guy yesterday -- an idiot who clearly doesn't know how to secure his load or have the common sense to shut the door. I kept a good distance back because I was afraid the pallet jack was gonna come rolling out.

While there are places that are rough, it’s really not as bad as the media makes it out to be. Make your self a hard target. Look like you’re meant to be there, look like you know what’s going on, mind your damn business and others will mind theirs. The reason people get shot at fuel pumps is cuz they feel need to run their mouth and not mind their business.

Really does not matter where you are.....when all hell brakes loose think one better duck and be prepared for it. Be it fueling, or shopping in a store, parking lots, motels, roadside parks, bars, any where humans hang out. I been lucky so far because i got that junk yard dog look to me.

That is exactly what my Uncle taught me when we drove team. He said walk like you have a purpose! Be aware but don't look around like you are new here.

now tell us what scares you.........anything.....not just driving...

I have crazy dreams often that scares me and pisses me off too.

Ever dream that there's a lion (or other weird creature) lose in a crowd of people but it
just only targets you and starts stalking you and ignoring
everyone else.

I get that alot. Then I wake up pissed trying to figure what
the hell that dream meant.
