Well I think people need to read the posts about the oil execs being questioned. I was the origanal poster and got plenty of links to the sites..............

yes, but questioning and acting on are two seperate things..

congress, the senate, anyone can question the oil execs, but what will be the final outcome of all the questions...?? nothing, because the BIG business's of america, run america. our politicians will not make waves, at least not big waves, just enough to satisfy thier constituants, and that's about all.. then when the questioning is done, everyone goes back to normal.

if the demand for diesel drops (and it will) with the continued shutdown/strike, more diesel will be diverted to the foreign countries that use it. this is what's been happening.....this is one of the reasons why the price has skyrocketed. its called supply and demand.

you set up a trust fund with a bank...........no one should be trusted with the money, too many possibilities of temptation...........

take a look at any time a family gets burnt out of thier house, or a family loses a parent, whatever...........its done through a trust fund by the local banks.........and they in turn dole out the money as per the instructions agreed upon...........

i say that you are going about this all wrong.....go after the oil companies, the guberment WILL NOT interfere with business, especially since so many politicians get (some of) thier campaign funds from the oil companies.....

ur welcome, and I will agree with going after the oil co. I posted that on a few posts, But it never hurts to give when u can.One day u might need a hand either at home or on the road.

You may be right....

I hate to say this but hauling cheap loads just to try to make the fuel cost is not going to help. It is also the reason loads are staying cheap. Believe me i know how you feel about the money but this is only delaying your demise.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who will jump on a load knowing they might only clean $50 because right now that is $50 more than they have. There are a bunch of drivers here still running because of that fact. The container business here in Savannah is such that you will NEVER make money hauling them. $50 on a load is pretty good right now. I know my neighbor cleared (after just fuel mind you) $200 on one load last week because he had 4 hours detention at the consignee.

Do not throw stones, you don't know the circumstances in a person's life, believe me, I see how these people live, and it's not pretty, but the are out there working, not sucking up tax dollars with imagined disabilities or injuries.

I asked a questioned: Where I could be pointed to get information on something and therefore i got the information. Then I directed everyone from this thread to that thread to look at the links to articles. It's not that hard to figure out. There is no point in arguing on the internet either and debating. Either stand together or get left behind.

IDEAS!!!!!!!! WE NEED TO CALL LOCAL RADIO AND TV STATIONS AND REQUEST THAT BUSINESSES POST SIGNS IN THEIR WINDOWS PROTESTING FUEL PRICES. AFTER ITS HURTING BUSINESSES ALSO. THIS WILL HELP FIRE UP THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. IT NEEDS TO BE CONSTANTLY IN THEIR FACE AND THEY NEED TO REALIZE THEY CAN FIGHT BACK. i guess no one ever told you to lay off the caps, its screaming...but i guess you being so honest you don't think about it...

now, i never alluded to anything that you are not honest, however, to set up a trust fund through a bank, i believe you can get interest on top of your account. then too, suppose you're not avaialble to disburse the funds, at least the bank has regualr business hours, and they follow the directions set forth by the fund. an individual may sway too much and just give the money away, then the account will go bankrupt too soon.

Today, so far i have spent my day emailing my local newspaper,Dave Ramsey@ FOX BUSINESS,Goodmorning America, ABC News with Charles Gibson and i plan to carry on from there. I am letting them know this is not over and we are organizing for round two. I am giving them the email address, The American driver. com so they will know we are serious. I am also requesting they let businesses know to put signs in their windows in protest. The american people need to know their not alone and they can fight back.
