The War Path

Got through the 30° side winds (hold the steering wheel at 30° off top dead center)
And had a couple hours of clear roads, easy driving

and then get that sinking oh-crap feeling when I saw I was going straight into the middle of this.

dammit..

Oh, and the Silver Sage truck stop in Ely sucks. The billboard advertised a grill with burgers. They have a grill, all right. But only to deep fry corn dogs and pizza sticks.
Won't be back. I'd rather go to the Shell down the road and have Taco Time for way too much money than chance ptomaine here.

Tacos are only for Tuesday Today is Thursday. Well they both start with T so maybe we can let it slide. LOL.

Looks like I'm getting a new (to me) office chair.

It's not quite local, but I'll be home a lot more than I am now. It's an hourly-paid company position for a private carrier on a dedicated route that alternates every other week. First week, I'll be out three nights, then home and a short day run, four days on, three off. The following week is one night out, three day work week and four days off unless I ask to work some more, which I most likely will because I'm greedy. It's all day work.

So....any Swifties want to take over a lease on a 2015 Pete?

wishing you the very best gal.

The truck I'm going into is a Columbia, circa 2004ish with a DD S-60, EGR only.

Drove it yesterday for my drive test. 10 speed and all...gotta get used to that again. I'll miss my 13 and the smooth ride of the Pete, but the benefits outweigh the losses. People who work for other people and have W-2s can get credit a lot faster than people who work for themselves and have 1099s. And the hassles will be a lot lower.

The thing I miss the most about being my own boss is not being able to disappear for a few days on short notice. Your schedule will make that less of issue, I would think.
