Unloaded this morning in Mentor, OH with a bunch of steel rod bundles. The receiver was all bent out of shape because there was no vertical blocks in between. I just busted my butt taking off 2 tarps, chains, straps and 4 homemade bulkheads in between the bundles and this fat azz receiver is complaining because he has to put a rod in between and push them 4" apart.
Where's the vertical blocks? Got me? There's suppose to be vertical blocks? Got me, I'm just the truck driver. You should have given specific instructions to the shipper. I did. You should call and bitch at them, I'm just the stupid truck driver, I don't work for the shipping company. He didn't talk to me at all after that.
Like the load I picked up before this one going to SC. Paid $1,700 for less then 500 miles. Unheard of. Got to the shipper on Friday and shipper said about time, your 2 days late. I said not me, I just arraigned to pick up the load 2 hours ago. He said well, Landstar was suppose to pick this up 2 days ago. Ya well, I'm an independent, I don't work for Landstar, like I said, I just arraigned to pick this up 2 hours ago. It has to be delivered today. Nope, Monday. I can't drive that much and be there before 2pm. Pretty much the same thing on the other end when I delivered. You were suppose to be here last week on Thursday!!!! Give them the same story. So, in the end, everyone is pizzed off at me. I just kept thinking of the $1,700.
From what I can gather the load was what Landstar calls, "In Distress". Their truck never showed up. They put all the money into the load plus some of theirs. They saw my truck 20 miles away. It was kind of funny. They acted like I worked for them. It pays $1,700 and we need you there NOW. Yup, I'm ur beoutch, leaving now.
