Moving again...

We have some of those near us...they are scattered around the Country left vacant by the Builders when the Money dried up...but I prefer your "Ghost Towns"...

I need to find a town that's right for me.
Go visit them. When I moved back home (well not really home to me, but my family home) Crys and I went to various places. Las Vegas, Montana, New Hampshire, Texas, Tennessee, Colorado......There were things at every place that said yes or no.
Yankee's have a way different attitude. My wife was in NH a day before she came home.
I got off a plane in Colorado to a snow bank higher than the plane....I had forgotten those from my childhood.
Vegas is a cesspool. Oh there are some neat shows, but for the most part animal filth preying on lesser animals. Nope
Montana had no jobs for the wife.
My wife's dad is from Texas and still hates me, and she hates Texas.
Tennessee fit, Moore County fit. Found our house Sept. moved in Dec 25 2007.

Good luck.

one reason navada's great is because your property taxes are based off of 35% of your homes value unlike other states

so a $200,000 house will be taxed at $70,000..??

holee...sheet......

my current home is valued at $225,000 and my taxes are under $5,000!!!!!!!! then i get "home owner occupied" and pay only half of that,,,,,,!!!!

so $2500 for the year!

I liked parts of Tennessee but Sandy is slow to come around on it. I like the south western parts of VA down below Roanoke.
I liked the Dothan AL area as well as Eufala,Al. I would have to visit when I have time to explore though. Those are places I went through a good bit in the truck.

Another good point here in your post is that if you want something you have to go out and fossick for it.

Word of the day: fossick.

That's more like it...................now there I could live...

Lot of places like that out here.... Taxes are not too destructive either.:tease:Of course you know you have to learn to have some redneck ways about you. (down home type folk). Know how to throw :throwfit: here and there now and then. Not be afraid of folks who always looking for a group:grouphug:Have I :scared: you yet???

Advantage to me in many ways...anyone living outside Dublin is considered a "Redneck" and my move to the Country deemed me to be a "Blow-in"...so in short I'm a "Blow-in Redneck"...I'm known to be as stubborn and Pigheaded as a Mule and can hold my own in any :throwfit:...{bring it on:paddle:}.....................:grouphug:are a BIG NO NO with me...

When I lived in Blarney back in the 80's {Blarney Stone Fame}during the Summer Months our local Church on Sunday Mornings would always have a large crowd of American Tourists attending Mass {Service} during the Mass the Priest would say "Peace be with you" and indicates a Handshake { I HATE THAT PRACTICE WITH A VENGEANCE }with the Person next to you...I reluctantly do it if a Hand is offered to me...The Americans Hug each other... WTF...it's only a friggin' Handshake not a Love-in ...So 2 out of 3 ain't bad...would I qualify..........

Be a proud Redneck! A hard working person with a bit of a sun burn from hard work.
Some try to make it a derogatory term.
It don't work. Only rednecks can use the word redneck. I consider it as a term of endearment.
