We just recently got a travel ban on commercial unless loaded AND had snow chains lifted.
It only applied to the interstates but still I ain't going out of it's that bad. Not a fan of running the side roads a workaround because they usually aren't any better.

It cleared up already down this way. Other than some ice on my truck that didn't last past the warmup. It was in the 40s most of the day.
Only because the wife likes the house closed up. I love it all wide open.

We have had back to back to back to I don't even remember how many backs anymore the last 2 or 3 weeks. I never stopped plowing or cutting up downer trees. That is until today when another foot came in last night and it was wetter and heavier than it's been.
We finally got more than we could handle so many storms one after another. Luckily there's plenty of people around the bay that have bigger and bigger equipment. It's finally supposed to lay off for a while.

I've got WAY too much ground to cover to even think about that. There's about a 400 foot driveway through the trees out to the road and a lot of open area between the shed shop and house to do. The most that gets a shovel around here is a couple decks and a few doorways. I've got a couple boys with good backs for that.
Aside from the snow the trees are getting so heavy I've had a lot of limbs hanging down low in the driveway and a couple small trees down in the way. Just more firewood and beach bonfire fodder for the summer.
Yesterday I handed my 11 year old about an 8 or 10 foot piece of willow I had cut and showed him how to whip the shit out of the trees to knock snow off so they'd spring back up. He thoroughly enjoyed that.

We've had a hell of a lot of snow here this winter so far.
Not as much as Hillbilly Canuck, but more than usual.
But I haven't touched the snowblower or the tractor once so far.
I just sweep off the concrete by the back door.
Huge snow drifts between the house and the driveway? No problem, just put that 1 ton 4wd dually diesel in 4wd and drive it through the drifts, then we can follow it's tire tracks to the driveway.
Can't get the van up to the shop to plug in a charger? No big deal, just drive the diesel to the shop, then follow it's tire tracks with the van.
Van gets stuck? Well there's a 50 foot tow strap in the back seat floorboard of the diesel.
But we haven't had a snow emergency yet. My definition of snow emergency is not "the roads are bad", it's "the weight of the snow is going to make the roof cave in".. as shown in one of the pictures @Hillbilly Canuck posted.
His house I assume is built to handle a heavy snow load, much like yours is designed to handle hurricane winds.
But where I live, if I had that kind of snow accumulation on my roof, I'd be taking action to reduce that weight.

I had to stop by Moms after work to install a carbon monoxide detector. It's a dual smoke alarm and CO detector.
There is a new law in Ontario that dwellings have to have a CO detector. I am not sure if it is all dwellings or only those that use gas for heating, cooking etc. Easier to just install the detector than look up the regs and try and convince her.
I got some cooked chicken out of the deal so, that's a plus.

A friend of mine asked if I was going out. Nope too expensive on New Years.
Three days you should always stay home...
1) New year's, very expensive and you will always be let down.
2) St. Patrick's day. Too many rookie drinkers out there that think they can drink like they're Irish.
3) Halloween. Too many armature drunks in disguise as Batman.
On these three days do not go out. Stay home and hide under your bed.

I woke up from napping through half a hockey game at 10 till 12 then we went outside and set off fireworks like half the bay was doing.
