And because The Canada has that daytime running light law, the low voltage that is delivered to the headlights destroys the power converter, especially in LED bulbs.
My Pete used to eat headlights. I accessed the BCM and had the DRL turned off and never replaced another bulb.
Another stupid law, or trend, or whatever it is - the cars that shut off at red lights.

Last week I was at menards and this Mexican guy & his wife were trying to get one of their tiny little subcompact cars started. Like one of them called the other to come help.
The starter was OK but it's flywheel was trashed. I figured out what the problem was just by listening to the starter grind and watching him try to push the car back and forth, while repeatedly looking at his phone like he'd googled the problem in Spanish.
I correctly guessed the car was an automatic & he's stupid. You can't advance a flywheel past a bald spot on the flywheel by pushing it in gear if it's an automatic.
But my '46 Ford tractor has dead spots on its flywheel too. I can only turn it over by squeezing the slack out of the belt and turning the fan blade. (there's no fan clutch, just direct drive off the belt)
He didn't seem to speak a word of English and his wife never got out of the other car.
I reached down & grabbed the belt down by the crankshaft pulley but could barely get my arms in there. I managed to turn the engine over about 1/4 turn & with sorta like sign language I communicated "turn the key". He did & it started right up.
I thought about pulling my phone out and using one of these AI translator apps to talk to him but he said "gracias" about 15 times.
He was probably an illegal alien.
But at least he knows what to do next time.
