how stupid is this arrest..???

I bet you thought it would be a good idea to tax the crap out of smokers, Didn't you? Ok so I pay way more taxes than you do. I have paid for my right to smoke and then some! How much more tax are you willing to pay for clean air? None I bet! You got what you wanted,Now deal with it! How about they tax you on your cheeseburgers that you scarf down while polluting the air in you vehicle?

Not so big on having your freedoms taxed or taken away, But you want everyone else to be taxed and their freedoms taken away!

Not to mention the fact that when smokers quit (paying taxes), guess who gets to pick up the slack for the lost tax income?

I have priors...

Nooooo...............really? You? I would have never ever guess!

To the one poster who made a silly ass remark about the couple dancing and blocking other people from there journey home I ask...........Can I call a cop and have some douchebag (urban dictionary; An individual who has an over-inflated sense of self worth, compounded by a low level of intelligence, behaving ridiculously in front of colleagues with no sense of how moronic he appears.) locked up for blocking the fuel pumps because the retard is doing God knows what in the truck stop when Im tying to fuel and be on my way home? Answer No. And his/her truck is totally blocking my attempt at forward movement.

Can people while on foot walk around said dancing couple on a subway platform? Answer, YES
Goddamn nanny state is alive and well!!

And when a member of this forum that is from the Ukraine, who may or may not have ever step foot in this country, see's this, The United States of America as a place thats starting to look like his country with the actions of are police, should tell you something right there in its self.

It is the eternal conflict. Where the right end for one man? Where the right to begin for another man? This practical issues.

How do you jump from me disliking cigarette smoke to me wanting to tax the crap out of smokers? Big leap there bubba.

Smoke your life away, I don't care. Just don't do it near me.

Yes Sir it sure is! I have never called for the Taxation or banning of anything (Except the Burka,That should be banned) If there is something I don't like, I just stay away from it! No need to ban it or tax it.

So it's OK to ban the burka because it has no effect on you? What a hypocrite.

Who's even talking about banning or taxing anything besides you? It's about consideration.

These two jerks were being inconsiderate of the other commuters. It would have been different if they were slow dancing in the corner. They weren't. The officers asked them to stop, they made a stink.

As usual Gus....Your wrong, I'm probably older than you are.
But just because I've gotten a little older doesn't mean that I'll just sit back and let a fool with a badge do whatever he wants to.

That's the beauty of America, you're entitled to your opinion no matter how dumb I think it is.

You think it's "dumb" to stand up for your civil rights?

Wow.

You claim to be old, but that post seems like something an indoctrinated student of today's public school system would say.

Who? I want to know. Remember, 100% of smokers will quit.

The point Gus: when ever you raise a tax two things happen: 1). the government allocates and spends that money. 2). People cut back or stop the activity being taxed. That leaves the government in the position of needing to replace that tax revenue they just lost from the quitters. SO what they do is tax a new group, or general population. Invariably what happen is people not in the targeted group end up paying the tax. IOW: non-smokers will end up paying the taxes originally imposed on the smokers.

No, The burka has a direct affect on me. I am not a hypocrite if you lived where live you would know. You don't know who is under there or what they are packing.

Cosideration? How about you consider my rights? I have paid more than MY share of taxes to smoke because of crybabies like you.You brought up smokers ,You said they are inconsiderate. Well they pay for their rights and you don't .

No. His opinion that I'm wrong. Sheesh, you guys sure read a lot that isn't there.
His opinion would be a thought that he has, not an action that he participates in. Do you guys even think about what you write before typing?

So what might they be hiding under a burka (besides an ugly face) that they couldn't otherwise hide under other clothing?

I "pack" whenever I am not in the truck but you'd never know because it's concealed, so that argument doesn't wash.

You don't pay for the right to smoke. What an ignorant assumption. A tax doesn't give you any rights. You pay taxes on your vehicles. That doesn't give you the right to drive 120 mph through a construction zone. That would infringe on the worker's rights to a safe work environment, so laws had to be created because there are inconsiderate people out here.

I paid taxes on every weapon and every piece of ammo I own. That doesn't give me the right to go shooting willy nilly whenever or wherever I want.

Most smokers are considerate. It's the ones that aren't that create problem for everyone and stick out like a sore thumb.

We aren't talking taxes here folks. It's two inconsiderate individuals that didn't stop when the police told them to.

You don't pay for the right to smoke.

That is arguable. What is not arguable is that you don't pay for your right not to.

A tax doesn't give you any rights. You pay taxes on your vehicles. That doesn't give you the right to drive 120 mph through a construction zone. .

That's right, but it should buy me some use of the road I pay for. Pedestrians and bicyclists don't pay any road taxes so they should have no right to use the road.

I paid taxes on every weapon and every piece of ammo I own. That doesn't give me the right to go shooting willy nilly whenever or wherever I want.

They have a special tax (not sales tax) for gun ownership?

That is arguable. What is not arguable is that I don't care about your right not to.

Fixed

Within the rules. I agree wholeheartedly.

No, what difference does it make what a tax or fee is called? It doesn't give you any more rights than anyone else.

If a buy an exotic car and pay the additional luxury vehicle tax, does that give me more rights than the Chevy owner?
