how stupid is this arrest..???

I have priors...I have been arrested for not complying with their orders and have beat the case every time.

It is true....But some of you are so quick to side with the cops and villify the couple that it's no wonder that the cops step on the public the way they do.

Worshippers....

Makes me wonder.. had any of those killed in the collapse known the buildings were coming down.... would they still have climbed those stairways?

Not making light of this in anyway but... eminent death would cause me to pause hard and use a different method.

I have seen people overjoyed to see an old friend, because they won something really kewl, they heard some good news, or simply because they woke up on this side of the dirt. They are so happy, they jump up and down, shout for happiness and even dance. Meanwhile, some onlookers watch with disgust, scowling and shaking their heads. Only reason I can think of for this reaction is envy. Their own lives are so miserable that they can't just let someone else be, or act, happy. They concoct some reason why that other person's joy is an inconvenience to them. And so they call the law to put a stop to it. Then they go home and drop another antidepressant pill down their throats.

Me? I refuse to be or live miserably. If someone else wants to be happy, I choose to be happy with them.

I'd be telling the cop to go pound sand as well. If you live so close to the subway that a couple's dancing to a street musician is going to keep you awake and make you grumpy, too bad. Bum wants some sleep? I can think up lots quieter places than the subway platform.

That's the problem with this world. Nobody's allowed to be happy because nobody else can mind their own business.

Likewise, including an assault on a police officer charge, which was later reduced to a simple city ordinance violation. Since I am no longer young and foolish, these days I would choose to keep my attitude to myself, and if treated unfairly, retaliate with legal action.

I have seen cops who have no business with a badge but to say they are all bad is just like any other generalization - rooted in ignorance.

There is a difference in spontaneous happiness and being drunk and disorderly, although most drunks can indeed be very happy. True, I don't know that they were drunk like law enforcement claimed, however, I don't know that they weren't either.

I have seen cops that have no business with a badge either....about 95% of the cops I've ever dealt with were power trippin' punks.

But you and a few others immediately jump to the conclusion that the cop were justified in their actions and that the couple were automaticly out of line.

That "lay down and take it" attitude is exactly why we now live in a quasi-police state where cops routinely fabricate crimes and lie as amatter of policy in order to railroad the very people that they're supposed to "Protect and Serve".

No, only saying that all public "displays of joy" are not all innocent, as in the situation I had to endure.

I didn't say anything at all about laying down and taking it and I would never suggest that to anyone who has been treated unfairly by law enforcement. I am just saying that there is a proper procedure to follow.

Please do not preach "procedure" to me. Had I followed "procedure" last year, you would be finding my body next spring.

I have and will utilize the right to fight, argue and physically resist an unlawful, unprovoked arrest. I will make as much noise as I possibly can. I will create a scene and I will inflict as much damage as I can. It is this that stopped what could have ended extremely badly for me. You want to go quietly into that long sleep? Go. It's not for me.

So what if somebody's drunk? Are they hurting you? I think if people were allowed to have fun, maybe we wouldn't be such a stick-up-the-ass, depressed society. People are too serious. That's why they have to rely on drugs like pot, alcohol and antidepressants to experience anything but despair.

"You can laugh, but only a little." :bs: I say, cut loose, laugh loudly, celebrate life and if you can't tolerate somebody else's happiness, go away.

Too many times I probably should have been killed. Perhaps one time, I will be. I do not want to be remembered for being a dour stick in the mud. I want to be remembered for the joy and happiness I shared with those who mean the most to me. If somebody who means nothing to me doesn't like it, well, tough s***. Let me give you a nice, tall glass of Lightenthef'kup.

I'm not preaching anything to you. I really don't give a rat's ass whether you or anyone else gets tased or maced for being belligerent and resisting arrest. I'm just saying there are procedure's in place for those who do not want to risk use of force but don't want to lay down and take it either.

I have a question. Do you pay taxes that the police arrested the dancers?

When the police has a lot of rights and not enough social control you have anti-social police. I know it

Wow, a couple of internet Rambos we have here.

If 95% of the police you deal with are punks, do you think it might be your attitude? Nahh... couldn't be.

I can tell W9 is still young. I had that attitude back it the day. Don't worry, with age comes wisdom.

I guess the rights of these 2 outweigh the rights of everyone else on the platform that are just trying to get home.

A lot of smokers have this attitude too. My right to smoke, F everyone else's rights to breath smoke free air.

Dancing and smoking. Dancing and robbery. Dancing and murder. It's a strange analogy. Dancing is a threat?

Such situations should be solved without using of force. IMHO.

Here I have a problem. Drunk people every night, screaming and laughing in the street. Some idiot turns the music loud. The old woman watching television in a nearby apartment. I was angry.

But I do against it when people walk dismounted formation. This is North Korea.

Underthinking or just not thinking at all, which appears to be your problem in addition to having an obvious dislike of law enforcement, is even more dangerous than overthinking.

What we really need to do I suppose is just sit around like bitches and let the thugs in blue walk all over us because we "like them".

I've met a couple of decent cops over the years.....Most are the lowest form of trash!

I'm not preaching anything to you. I really don't give a rat's ass whether you or anyone else gets tased or maced for being belligerent and resisting arrest. I'm just saying there are procedure's in place for those who do not want to risk use of force but don't want to lay down and take it either.

Well I've never been tased or maced....But I have won many confrontations with cops because I understand my rights and I know what they can and can't do in a given situation.

I have a question. Do you pay taxes that the police arrested the dancers?

Alex here knows what happens when the police are allowed to have too much power because he lives in a place where police and government power are out of control....The sad thing is that some of you fools want this country to be more like his country than the great country it was before the population turned into a bunch of self centered sissies!

Wow, a couple of internet Rambos we have here.

Wow Gus....I'm getting my feeling hurt.:rolllaugh:

If 95% of the police you deal with are punks, do you think it might be your attitude? Nahh... couldn't be.

Actually Gus....I'm usually pretty respectful when dealing with these clowns and haven't had too many problems the last couple of years, But I know my rights and I won't let them cross the line.

I can tell W9 is still young. I had that attitude back it the day. Don't worry, with age comes wisdom.

As usual Gus....Your wrong, I'm probably older than you are.
But just because I've gotten a little older doesn't mean that I'll just sit back and let a fool with a badge do whatever he wants to.

I guess the rights of these 2 outweigh the rights of everyone else on the platform that are just trying to get home.

They were dancing Gus.....How could they have been keeping people from getting home?

A lot of smokers have this attitude too. My right to smoke, F everyone else's rights to breath smoke free air.

I don't smoke....I smoked years ago. I have no problem with someone lighting up a smoke near me because I believe that all of the hype about "Second Hand Smoke" killing all of these millions of people is BS.
But the government says it happens.....So I guess that's good enough for you.

Hey Gus....Let's just make everything illegal and bust people for going outside their homes because we don't want anyone to bother us.

blackw900 I understand "...when the police are allowed to have too much power..."

I know when the police have the power. The police will be above the law and rights. I have it now, today. It is a thin line, to cross easily. But the road back will not happen.

Gus wrote about Rambo. Rambo first blood. Sheriff started the war. ;)

I know what you mean Alex...In this country we have too many fools that are willing and ready to just hand over their rights to the cops!

When they have no more freedom they'll ask....What happened?

When you get dragged out of bed at 11:30pm by a thug wearing black fatigues, combat boots and a badge who is demanding access to your sanctuary and you have done absolutely nothing wrong, what will you do? Just let him in because you have "nothing to hide?"

Not me. I broke his hand slamming my door on him. He and I both knew he had neither probable cause nor any right to make contact with me. I had committed no crime. Even in resisting his contact, I committed no crime. I honestly believed my well being and safety to be in jeopardy. So I fought. Loudly. No charges were leveled at me for injuring that uniformed goon.

Any charges stemming from that encounter would have been handily beaten anyway. SCOTUS ruled that an innocent person has the right to resist arrest. Because probable cause cannot exist when a person has done nothing wrong.

Two people dancing to a metal drum and arrested? Really? Not like they can't find a mugger or even a bum p***ing on a wall in the subway area or anything.

When you start sleeping on subway platforms....I still won't care if I'm keeping you awake because you'll just be a bum at that point and, not worthy of my consideration.

Have you ever been in an urban area & had bums climb on your truck's running boards trying to bum money or "help" you find your destination? I'd like to see how you would react. The worst thing I've ever done was open the door & fling one of them off the side of the Volvo I was driving. It was easy to make him fall off though, because there are no grab handles on the outside of a Volvo, just the mirror bracket.

It would be kinda like when you are at the store and there's these people who apparently haven't seen each other in years who have suddenly noticed each other and they are standing there having some kind of reunion with their carts blocking the entire Isle oblivious to anyone around them who merely wants to get past them to get a loaf of bread and be on their way.

I have come across this situation many times...."excuse me" has worked every single time.

Just standing there quietly feeling frustrated and inconvenienced doesn't work as well.

I've been at grocery stores where ignorant people will stop & pick an item up off the shelf & stand there reading the ingredients while their cart is blocking the aisle. I wish shopping carts had air horns on them. One lady started screeching at me a few years ago because I grabbed the handle of her cart & slid it sideways to get it out of my way. I don't even ask them to move any more. If they're so ****ing rude they don't even realize they're impeding others, they aren't worthy of an "excuse me". When I'm in the grocery store & I stop in an aisle for any reason, the first f'n thing I do is move my cart to the side so others can get by. I do it out of habit without even thinking about it. And if I notice someone standing and looking at items on the shelf that my cart is blocking, I'll move my cart & say "sorry".

A lot of smokers have this attitude too. My right to smoke, F everyone else's rights to breath smoke free air.

If my cigarette smoke bothers you, walk away. I only smoke outdoors or in my own house, vehicle, or a building/house where the owner allows it. If you are in an indoor establishment where smoking is allowed, & you don't like it, you can leave. Bitching about it will only result in getting ignored. I usually can ignore a whiner for the 5 minutes it takes to smoke a cigarette, unless a person is REALLY being obnoxious.

I hate that so much!

I bet you thought it would be a good idea to tax the crap out of smokers, Didn't you? Ok so I pay way more taxes than you do. I have paid for my right to smoke and then some! How much more tax are you willing to pay for clean air? None I bet! You got what you wanted,Now deal with it! How about they tax you on your cheeseburgers that you scarf down while polluting the air in you vehicle?

Not so big on having your freedoms taxed or taken away, But you want everyone else to be taxed and their freedoms taken away!
