how stupid is this arrest..???

well considering that this did happen in NYC, and how much NT is advertising for visitors, i hope the mayor steps in and takes care of this stupid arrest. this probably has gotten a lot of web time since it broke hours ago.

i hope the mayor is as embarrassed as all hell.

maybe the idiot cops ought to be suspended and sent to dancing school. that'll teach'em.

Yeh, like ballroom dancing!!! That is exactly what those cops need!

Yes this is stupid.
They should arrest the producers of "Dancing with the stars" instead, lol.

Here's another case of stupid prosecution involving Bobby Unser.

I got a million of these......

Mrs. Duck had a studio apartment. On the other side of the wall was a white trash couple. One night they'd be fighting & screaming & hollering at each other, the next they'd be having wild & loud monkey sex...

When I was in my 20's my friend Brian lived in a duplex with his wife and they used to complain about the couple next door having really loud sex all night....So I devised a sinister plan.
One Friday night I was at Brians house and we were drinking copious amounts of beer and watchin' TV when we heard the couple next door start "Gettin Busy".....We waited for about 10 or 15 minutes and then we went in Brians bedroom and started cheering and hollering at them through the wall and saying stuff like "Go for it man!" "Make it hurt!" "Ooooh....Sounds like she liked that!" and other stupid crap like that.

They stopped what they were doing and we heard muffled voices and then we heard nothing.....I think he lost his wood!

Brian told me later that the guy wouldn't even look at him after that and the woman just glared at him.......Good times!

.
Oh lord, thankfully all of them don't. Some are female.
If you read the article, sometimes public displays of joy are late at night. For me that would infringe upon my need for sleep. I would have to weigh the options: My need to sleep vs their need to celebrate? Of course there are those who sleep during the day, so in my opinion, if someone wants to be LOUD, they should do it far enough away from others that it won't be an issue, or be more subtle in their displays of joy. That way there will be no need for law enforcement, who has much more important things to do besides licking their balls.

When you start sleeping on subway platforms, I will begin to be concerned for your need to sleep while this couple is dancing.

As I said on another trucking site:

If they were swing dancing, it could have been endangering themselves and the public. Flailing around on a subway platform is frowned upon because it's dangerous. If someone inadvertently swings or is swung into another person waiting on the platform, the could be knocked onto the third rail and killed. That's just once scenario off the top of my head.

Again, don't blame law enforcement for enforcing the laws, half the time they disagree with them too. Blame the people who passed the law.

Well dancing is dangerous.

When you start sleeping on subway platforms....I still won't care if I'm keepeing you awake because you'll just be a bum at that point and, not worthy of my consideration.

We have become a society of assholes that can't mind our own business....The arrest was completely stupid and unwarranted and the only crime here was perpetrated by the cops and whichever whinebag it was that called them.

I don't remember if this article mentioned it or not, but another article stated that a musician was also playing steel drums that the couple was dancing to. Sound can really carry in an otherwise quiet late night, and while I might not ever be sleeping anywhere near such a location, some other less fortunate person could be. Even a homeless person needs to sleep.

From what I understand, the original charge was impeding the flow of traffic. Since they were doing the Charleston, I can see how it could have been a problem if someone was wanting to get on the train and trying to get past them while they were dancing. It would be kinda like when you are at the store and there's these people who apparently haven't seen each other in years who have suddenly noticed each other and they are standing there having some kind of reunion with their carts blocking the entire Isle oblivious to anyone around them who merely wants to get past them to get a loaf of bread and be on their way.

They didn't arrest the guy playing the drums and making all of the noise that you seem so concerned about and you failed to include the fact that the subway train makes more noise that the drummer anyway so anyone in proximity would already be disturbed by that.
The homeless person will just have to deal with whatever he/she/it has to deal with....Part of the perks of being a bum.

Yes....Because one couple dancing takes up so much room that I could never figure out how the get passed them and get to my train.

I have come across this situation many times...."excuse me" has worked every single time.

Just standing there quietly feeling frustrated and incovenienced doesn't work as well.

I understand what you wanna say Road Dust. But it's too far. I think that dancing does not prevented people and trains.

I doubt the officers intended to arrest these two on initial contact. I'll bet they asked them to knock it off, the guy then got belligerent and pulled out his camera, sensing a potential U-tube hit.

We all know how much the law loves being video taped. I'm sure it escalated from there.

I have no sympathy for these two idiots. This world has gotten way too "It's all about me." Cuff 'em and stuff 'em!

That's exactly what happened according to the article I read. The charge of resisting arrest was later dropped.

If some cop walked up to me and told me that I needed to stop doing something as harmless as dancing...I'd tell him to **** off!
More people in this country need to tell the cops to **** off when they try to push us around for the sake of pushing us around.

It aint illegal to video tape a cop....They just can't act like the punks that they truly are when the camera is watching, That's why they hate it so much.

Of course you realize that this is your opinion and that you would deprive these people of their freedom for no valid reason. But it your world that's OK because, That's what YOU want!

Your attitude screams....."It's all about me!"

Here is another article about the same couple. Sounds like one of them could have been BW9.
http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/07...arrested-last-year-in-subway-dancing-episode/

I read that....It sound like the punkassed cops are "spinning" it to make the couple appear to be "bad people" and of course they just had to toss in the race card and say that the guy refused because they were "black cops" which is almost certainly a lie!
Niether one of them reacted the way I would have....Not even close.

The cops more than likely walked up and acted like the thugs that cops usually act like and the couple probably reacted by resisting being told to stop doing something that was completely harmless and then the "thugs" got heavy handed as they always do when someone doesn't think that the police are all powerful.

My word against yours and I have a badge.

I'm sorry, don't see BW9 in this unless the you're referring to the "cop" side.

This is such a waste of time.....
