Drive For CRST?

Well, like I said, I wasn't trying to be insultling, just pointing out that it's not easy to get by in this industry and it's getting harder everyday. As for calling me stupid, well, that is certainly your opinion and your welcome to it. However, I've never had a job that only paid 10,000 for a years worth of work, as well as the fact that I havn't had ever had the need to lie on an application or have I had to drive with out a liscense.

I'm not nor have I called you stupid, just suggested that perhaps, trucking just wasn't for you. Have a nice day.

Duster
Trucking IS FOR ME. CRST is just a hell of a place to work for. I can deal with them treating me like shit, I can deal with sitting for a couple days, as long as im making money. I could even deal with making just a couple hundred a week (after i eat). I can't deal with not being allowed to drive when im in an area with freight, because of something stupid. Team trucking isnt for me. CRST refused to ever let me solo. Oh, and I also can't deal with being forced to drive with someone that's going to scream at me constantly, like my last co-driver. Or with an alcoholic, like the one two co-drivers before that, who bitched at me because I only urinate in bathrooms, instead of in bottles without stopping more than once every 10 hours. Or a psycho thats going to get pissed off at me over scaling a load and storm off, like the one before that. And the one before that got sent back to training because she took out a set of trailer tandems on a fuel island, and fell in love with her trainer. I really wish she would have fallen in love with me instead! But, most decent people quit CRST within the first few months. Only the morons and dicks stay. Oh, some decent people do work there, but they arent looking for co-drivers.

I've never driven without a license. I got the ticket paid.

I LIVE IN MICHIGAN. Thats why i had a job that paid $10,000 for a year. I also had a job i worked for 9 months and i got $16,000 for those 9 months, but i forgot about it. (LOTS AND LOTS of overtime). its impossible to get a job over here.

And ok, I shouldn't have called you stupid. I'm sorry. You pissed me off, and I shouldn't have posted when i was pissed off. Ok?

Reading these posts about CRST brings back some memories. I worked for them in the mid 80's when most of the drivers they had were solo. Their big push for team drivers was just starting then. The equipment wasn't the best. All COE. No power steering, 58 mph downhill, and sometimes the A/C worked. I had one of the old GMC batmobiles if anyone remembers those. I have to be honest and say I made decent money when I ran solo. But they kept trying to get you to train drivers for them. I finally gave in and said I would train. Bad idea! After a month I told them no way I'm doing this anymore, put me back solo. They pitched a bitch about it but reluctantly let me go back to running solo. I was lucky to get 1500 miles a week after getting 3000 + before training drivers for them. I got tired of fighting with them about it and quit and went to work pulling a tanker.

If more people will give good reviews of trucking companies like CRST, and if prospective drivers were to read those reviews and decide not to go to companies like CRST, then maybe those companies will find a shortage of drivers and change...:)

Run as fast as you can(the other direction) My wife and I just quit them last Friday they are the worst company I have ever seen in my 10+ yrs of driving we averaged 2200 miles a week for the last 2mth's they have not refunded us motels, tolls or breakdown pay for the last 2 mth's. If anyone is happy there it's because they don't want to work or they want to go broke. You get paid twice a week they just can't tell you which week it's going to be. Good luck

I talked to the recruiter...sounded like a smug sob. Thought about it for 2 seconds and sent him an email and said no thanks..this forum confirms what I was feeling

try talking to a real driver like one at a truck stop that is driving for the company you are thinking about going to work for. Not saying anyone here is B.S.ing but this is the internet were we all look like meagan fox and brad pitt

For some reason, I lost my voice for about 3 days after it happened. I don't know why. I didn't scream myself hoarse ;)

The safety belts kept me from getting hurt. I'm not too sure how well a net would have protected me.

The drunk that hit us lived. A genuine Act Of God.

Maybe you just don't remember all the screaming you did..lol....
I would have had to change my britches...lol...

I've been in a couple of accidents and it happens so fast I really didn't remember everything that happened...

After we had it towed to Pratt, the owner of the yard seemed to think they could make a "glider" out of it. I think that's the word he used. The amount of damage didn't seem to concern him but I couldn't see how it would ever be put back on the road again.

Is "Bruces" on the east side? Same exit as Quick Trip? As of a few years ago it looked like they were trying to reopen it. Not much there but they were open. Haven't been by there in some time. I just remember the lot looks like it was used for artillery practice.

A glider is just that, a rebuilt truck that started out looking like that one. Never buy one.

In Kansas, the beer is only 3.2% in a lot of places. So the drunk who hit you was not only fortunate to live, but a lightweight loser as well.

I used to think that ATS had the dumbest flatbed drivers I've ever seen, but the other day, CRST stripped us of that title. I saw a guy who tarped crane pads.

Yes it was, I haven't stopped in the Tulsa area for a few years now. the last couple times I have been through, I was headed for one coast or the other. LOL

A glider kit wouldn't be a bad option, depending on the drivetrain. They would simply be taking the engine, tranny, and rear ends out of the wrecked truck, and putting it all under a completely new truck.

Sinister that is more then likely because they tell those drivers in orientation that everything is to be tarped unless the shipper places no tarps needed on the BOL's. If the shipper does not, most drivers are to nervious to ask the customer if the shipment requires tarps. So they tarp and go on their way, wondering why all the shippers dock hands were standing at the open dock door laughing at them the whole time they were tarping

Speaking of CRST,i'm cruisen down hwy 75 in Dennison I think can't remmeber right at the moment id have to look at the map.Well anyhow traffic was at a standstill. Why you ask because a CRST hit and totaled a construction vehicle. That is a 10k fine plus jail time.
