Cummins ISX starts then shuts off and won't restart

I have been having intermittent problems and can't seem to find what is going on. I have a 2001 ISX 565 that after running for a while I shut it down do what I have to do and go to restart it, it will start fine and then sound like it runs out of fuel and will not restart. (To restart I have to use ether) I do not have an electric fuel pump so that is not the problem. Fuel solenoids have been tested and replaced. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Replace the check valve that prevents fuel lines from draining back into the tank.

There's also something that adds air pressure to fuel line . I had a truck doing something similar when with Knight . It too was an older Cummins and my brother was having same problem with his Cummins powered truck . From what I remember it should've been a recall because it was such a common issue but at 1800 a pop for just the part alone they just swept it under the rug . ( that's the way I heard it anyway )
