Alchemy 101, and still the only 20 thread you need to read.

QC delivers some of the chemicals to the plant where I am working oot of. Maybe if you go to the Canada one day we might see ya.

They replace the fence posts where the tankers deliver about every week. But I am sure that is Canada Carnage (Cartage) tanker drivers knocking over the fence posts:D:thumbsup:

Iron Mountain.

Goofed on 2 parts, maybe 3.

Dispatch told me about this load earlier this week, to finish out the week, and actually make a few bucks. He didn't tell me I had to call ahead to verify the capacity of the Peroxide tanks at the mill. So me, thinking "Oh lemme just run this one quick, and back to the yard and head home for the weekend..." hauled ass up here.

The receiver dude then SIGNED MY PAPERWORK, verifying that they did in fact have capacity...THEN went to check the tanks.

They're at 5 something, and can only take Peroxide at 4 something...whatever that means. Can't deliver. It'll be about 10-12 hours before they're ready.

Well Ho Lee shit batman, there goes my weekend.

D'oh!

SO...because they signed the paper before checking their tanks...I go on the clock after 2 hours until it's delivered then head back to the yard, and hopefully home for a 34 before my next load of Peroxide out to Omaha.

So...3 goofs. Dispatch didn't tell me. I didn't know to call. Dude signed the papers before checking his tanks. I'll probably make about 200 bucks to take a ten outside the walmart here. They let me drop the trailer at the mill as a safe haven.

While not the ideal situation, at least I'm not stuck way off nowhere someplace with NO load for the weekend.

And though it don't seem like it, there's other folks working this weekend too. Walmart has made 2 deliveries in the last 3 hours to this store, and a Pumpkin just pulled in and pulled his curtains.

Iron mountain was where the funny American man said to the other American man that he had loaded me heavy over my drives in case I ran into snow being as I was going UP to Canada.
I asked him what he meant by UP to Canada? He said well it is north of here. I said no, Actually. It is south of here, Yes toronto is south from here:D:thefinger:
Fucking geographically illiterate:eek::D

Where are you going,Champion Paper maybe?

No good bars within walking distance. Sorry man.

Verso in Quinnesec.

I just called them because it's been 10 hours, and they said 12. So at about 10 I'm gonna roll back over there, unload...hopefully, and deliver and run back to the yard, and see if I can still make it home in the wee hours of the morning...and totally screw up my sleep pattern.

This tanker thing has so really off the wall delivery times sometimes...even when you don't screw up and show up way too early.

Just back yesterday from a TDI (poison) load to Downtown Dallas. Got hung up at the terminal because maintenance decided to change out 4 tires. Ran my butt off and got there at 1 pm. Sorry, we stop receiving at noon.:foreheadslap:

Hadda layover and deliver 6 AM the next day. Ever hunt for parking in Dallas???? Lucked out and caught an open space at Love's

One thing.... counted 18 planes outbound from nearby airport but zero in, 12 outbound commuter trains but only 4 inbound. All 4 going slow like they was ready to turn and run for it. Did I miss hearing something????? :roflmao:

You should see how many we make when you guys are asleep ;)
Have a relative who drives for Wal Mart....I keep thinking he might retire no soap he just keeps on driving....Another relative who was a bull hauler...remembering the ride I took with him and the black angus cattle to Clayton NM sale ring. If the truckers did not roll day and night just think where this country would be up creek without paddle....JMO

Verso= old champion paper. Lol

These paper companies changes titles and owners about as often as garbage companies too.

Unloaded and left the mill about 1130pm last night, was back at the yard about 2am, and home by about 4. Slept until about 11...now sitting on the couch messing around with the kids, and about to go cut the lawn.

Fireworks later...then back over to the yard tomorrow.

.

i used to pick up at Kimberly-Clark, in Lee, MA.

then the crap hit the fan, during the cigarette lawsuits. they changed thier name to (SP??) Switzer- Modet..?????

So...third week in a row at less than 1000 take home.

Can't find out what rates are, nor verify them after the fact. Cannot verify my hourly pay when I'm told it happens, nor mileage pay.

No idea what this load pays, and it's eating up an entire day for 180 loaded miles.

I don't trust this dispatcher or this affiliate one iota.

So the conclusion is that I either disappear into the system endlessly, and never ever get home because my dispatcher cannot handle OTR Dispatch, or I stay near home, and don't make enough money.

I'm not sure I see this improving if I get a truck here, and I'll have massive truck bills on top of that and almost zero support from the company.

At this point I can say, tried it, and not working.

I don't like having to suit up and wear a microwave suit, and some of these chemicals are pretty damn intimidating, and I'm not seeing how the risk pays off.

Last week on our safety conference call they told a story about a guy who did everything right, except one thing. Get annoyed about his unload taking too long. When he was done unloading, he didn't bleed off his hose, and when taking it off the fitting, the product blew up under his face shield and onto his skin and into his suit. He was properly suited up.

Caustic material. On the dudes face.

All he did was get annoyed and make one small mistake.

One of your drivers wa delivering to the plant where I work out of. he was there for six hours. He asked me if I could believe that shit? I told him I could totally believe that shit.
His name is Bob. So if you run into Bob from QC , Tell him I said hi. I mean how many Bobs can there be? LOL
