Appleton. Sleeping at the terminal, getting up stupid early and running an empty bleach trailer down to the Lansing, IL terminal, then bobtailing back up here.

Had to hop into a different truck yet again.

Last night as I was idling because it was still 80 degrees in Wisconsin (the temperature at which fat people fall over) all of a sudden my truck would not build air. It had lost its air, the alarms went off, and it just wouldn't build again.

So, shut it off, drained the tanks, let it sit while I slept, then this morning it was fine most of the day.

I got back to the terminal, and was leaving the yard to bobtail to Beaver Dam to get a trailer from a repair place, and made it about a mile from the yard when it happened again...right in the middle of the road.

They called out our mechanic, and we got it back to the yard. It's probably the compressor, he's thinking.

375,000 and the compressor craps out. Either that or a collapsed line that feeds the tanks.

Maybe both.

So I had to hop into this peterbilt again that the local guy flew off the handle about that time.

We did finally manage to get the breakdown sheets though. They were in all 15 boxes of the guys that run out of this terminal.

Heard today that our terminal in again being "audited" in some way.

Wonder what that's all about...
Well you have safety audits, revenue audits, compliance audits, LOS audits......

I do not think there is a week here someone is not looking at something. Me? Hell I just laugh yell "Wiggle Worms" and take off running. Keeps them from asking me stupid stuff ;)

No, that's the tank wash. Everyone uses that place.

I currently have TWO plan B in motion...

Just involves the small task of realigning all the planets to make either of them work.

Today I delivered a load in the U.P., then ran back to the yard, hooked up a trailer I have no training on, besides the crash course I got...

Then we realized it was half full.

Dispatcher "forgot" it was loaded.

So then I grabbed another one, and hauled ass (best I could in Milwaukee and Chicago rush hour) to Lemont...for a load to Rockford.

So yeah...ended up about 350 or so deadhead miles from Escanaba to Lemont, IL.

Sheboygan.

Delivered in Rockford uneventfully...just how I like it. Then went back to Lemont, IL for a load of bleach another guy was supposed to pick up but couldn't because dispatch said he was "WAAAAYYYY behind."...

I'm wondering when he was dispatched to begin with...given track records and all...

So I loaded this load, and noticed there was a phone number on the BOL. Ithe said deliveries between 8-2.

That's 0800-1400...

So I call it and say there's no way I'm making it, can anyone be there at about 4pm.

Nope, oh and someone already called and rescheduled this for tomorrow.

I thought, "wow dispatch was pretty proactive this time...

So I text my dispatcher, and tell him I'm loaded, rolling north, still not dispatched on the peoplebox, and does he want me to just deliver this in the morning?

He texts back just head up there you have enough hours.

I tell him I talked to them and they don't want it up til tomorrow.

As I'm getting on 294 he calls all pissed.

NOT supposed to be calling customers.

Why not.

You could get on trouble.

How.

You just could.

Uh huh...I see.

Okay well, when I was doing what I'm apparently not supposed to do all of a sudden, the customer told me someone had already called and rescheduled for tomorrow. I figured that was you.

WELL nobody told ME it was rescheduled. That's MY JOB to do that.

Yeah well maybe everyone knows you're fucking stupid....

Well, I dunno, maybe it was the shipper that called.

Had I left it to this guy to call the customer, as soon as we hung up the phone, four other things would have happened and I'd be sitting in front of the gate at the Sheboygan water treatment plant right now. Which would be a shit deal cuz those places never exactly have a lot of room, and are sometimes even in residential areas.

Screw this moron. I'm gonna keep calling customers because that works for me, I know how to talk respectfully to people, I'm not a dumbass, and these phone numbers are provided for a reason.

Besides, when I sat 13 hours in the U.P. July 4 weekend, he told me I'm supposed to call and verify Peroxide tank levels before I even leave the yard.

I have honestly never seen someone so schizophrenic...

Did I tell the story about the tank I thought was clean, he told me to take it, turns out the wash slip hanging on the front placard holder was a "Last Contained" ...not a wash slip...so I got back inside and let him know...and he says, "yeah you can't take that, it's a dedicated trailer".

That whole episode took about 5 minutes.

I think he needs meds.

Appleton. Though not sleeping at the yard, they said there's going to be lots of yard switches tonight...

Chugga Chugga Chugga BOOM boom boom boom....

Half the night.

Started the week with a problem child trailer that had to be transferrerd into another trailer because I refused to move it while it was leaking Gasoline when it came in on Friday, and was loaded anyway because FRIDAY LET'S HURRY AND GET THIS SHIT DONE...

So it was to go to the repair place because our mechanic isn't allowed to work on these trailers but they couldn't get it done. So Sunday the product was transferred and off I went to Norfolk, NE.

I looked at the back side of the BOL sent over by the customer and saw that it was a split load, with a second stop back in Omaha. Front only said Norfolk.

Talked to dispatcher and he said "just do what the BOL says, I will make sure it's billed correctly."

I certainly hope so because I tend to think I got screwed on the Gary, IN 4 tank split...grrr...

Funny thing, the BOL SAYS "Contact so and so from US PEROXIDE to arrange delivery. Omaha station is unmanned."

So, after I finished in Norfolk I called my buddy from US PEROXIDE and talked to him and he arranged a person from the City of Omaha to meet me. I call him my buddy because he loaned me a phone charger when I broke down in the Beet place that time. He likely has no idea who I am, so when I leave him a voicemail I say "Hey its your favorite QC driver..."

Stuff like that helps people remember you. Or think you're a lunatic.

Either way. It works.

Get that? I CALLED THE CUSTOMER.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

No. Not quite. It is 20 degrees cooler here than anywhere else in the state, and now it's gettino foggy. I can barely see the JB driver parked next to me waddling back to his truck from the store with his sandals and socks.

Stay in that store for 5 minutes and you will see some of the hottest college age girls ever, and some of the worst trashy people imaginable.

Pulling blades into and out of Duluth years ago, I may have spent a few minutes downtown in the gentleman's club district...

Superior is like Duluth's unmentionable cousin...

This is definitely the lower blue collar working side.

I wonder what time Gronk's closes. I may take a stroll...
