Alchemy 101, and still the only 20 thread you need to read.

Home. Wasted 4 hours sitting at the tank wash in Lansing before he told me to head to Bristol and get a different trailer instead.

When I got to Bristol, and found this gem of a trailer...it's been sitting there since August 28.

Probably should have washed in Bristol to begin with...but whatever.

Not sure why the wash in neenah won't wash out 240 degree paraffin wax.

Anyway...taking the kids to Monster Jam tomorrow in Green Bay, then back to work Monday to milk the clock for my last week.

Picked up Purina. Trailer in bad spot. Tell guard.

Yard dog brings to me at scale. Overweight drives. Yard dog takes to go have fixed. Sitting here paid by the hour. Life is rough here.

Did I mention I haven't had coffee yet? The suffering:eek:

Guess I BT up to truck stop and get a cup while I am waiting. Enjoy the last week of being a truck driver:stirpot2:

Yeah. What he /\ said.
Did you know they don't carry lighter flints anymore?
o_O
You prinks need to talk to your damn people!
I bought a butane torch at a WM once. Asked where to get the butane. They said check where I got the torch. Like I hadn't already thought of that. Then, they said that register over there and pointed. So I went to that register over there. No butane, we're out.

Well, when will more come in?

*shrug* I dunno..

Well, find out.

*calls manager*

*wait*

*wait*

*wait*

Manager shows up. We don't carry butane.

Why do you sell torches if you don't sell the fuel that makes them work?

*shrug* I dunno. Maybe people don't know how to handle butane?

Fine. Thank you for wasting my time. I returned the torch without ever leaving the store with it.

Huh. :cautious:

It's kinda like the Harlem Globetrobbers/Washington Generals thing.

Grave Digger pretty much wins everything.

I went to one of those monster truck shows back in the '80s. Back when Bigfoot was the big draw.
My buddy got tickets from his paper (root) Route.
It was a real big deal, Because we where like 12 or 13 and we went by ourselves on a weekday. we took the bus and then the subway and then a streetcar and got to stay out late.

My parents were like as long as you are with Joey. Yeah,..... Me and Joey is never a good idea! LOL. Joey is the half a Mick i have mentioned before, But I trust him with my life.

I went with my dad ages ago just for something to do. We went to the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, and that was a way better show than this. I think because the bigger areas to run around in are just way better. This place in Green Bay isn't much bigger than the hockey rink itself.

Even the ATV races in between were lame.

When I went ages ago everything was way more entertaining.

Kids loved it though.

My local Walmart only sells the Keurig 2.0 machines that use the "k-carafe" cups.

All they sell in the store are the regular kind of k-cups.

:bonk:

AND NO I'M NOT ORDERING IT ONLINE TAZZ.

They need room. This year they moved from Bridgestone (Hockey Arena) to Nissan Stadium and is was much more entertaining. Rained a little right before the show so it was almost a mud bog type show.

I ain't waiting a damn week for lighter flints!
And I ain't buying $50 worth of crap just so they don't cost $2 each!
Did you ask your store manager to carry them? The thing is no one uses zippo's anymore, or refillable lighters so those do not sell enough to warrant the shelf space. According to the store or they would have them. I would suggest seeing if they have a display of Zippo's by jewelry. Some stores have supplies there.

Over in camping. No idea why but that is where it is at if they have it. You can use the Walmart - Android Apps on Google Play to check any store you are in for availability. Works for most gm. Grocery items are still sketchy just from the turnover. BY the time the computer adds them in they are gone.

Welp...I dropped my last trailer at the tank wash in Neenah today.

Yesterday I delivered a load of Peroxide to Green Bay, and that went well.

While I was doing this, a local driver whose only been here a few weeks was supposed to load a trailer for me, going to Wisconsin Rapids, and he instead quit because he couldn't find the trailer, and a million other reasons. I'd heard that guy was kinda a nightmare and not going to make it anyway.

That's where it started to go downhill.

So I grabbed the trailer that didn't have a wash ticket, and my dispatcher forged a wash ticket. Didn't really care because you could tell this trailer was clean, just that someone didn't leave the ticket on the front of the trailer like they were supposed to.

I live loaded, went back to the yard to swap trucks, because he thought mine was due for service and headed out to the paper mill.

Turns out my truck was not due for service until the END of the month.

As I was opening the internal valve on this 1997 model trailer, the copper line that supplies the emrgency shutoff burst, and the internal valve wouldn't open. At this point, I had about 4 hours left on the eLog. I called in, suggesting that we bring the trailer back to the yard, all of an hour away, and fix it in the morning, then redeliver.

"No no, we gotta try for tonight yet. We gotta get that fixed. Can you ______ or maybe _____?"

"No, I'm in whatshisface's truck, and my tools are in my truck."

"I know a guy who can help us."

So, 2 hours later, we had a new copper line spliced, and I went back into the mill.

While I was delivering I ran out my 14.

"You can use the 16 hour exception, I need you to load in Oshkosh at 8am."

While I was unloading, I looked up the 16 hour exception.

It basically only applies to the local guys. Yes, I just came off a 34 restart, but my previous 5 "duty tours" did not start and end in the same place, so it's a flimsy loophole at best.

I asked the mill if I could take a 10 hour break on the property, and they said no.

So, with zero time available, at 1030pm, I drove back to Plover 20 something miles, violating the shit outta the eLog and got a room at the Super 8 on my own dime, which I will never be reimbursed for.

This morning, when I got moving, he calls me bitching that I screwed him up for today with who was covering what load.

I sat for a minute thinking about this while the truck warmed up, then drove across the street to get coffee from the Kwik Trip and headed back to the tank wash. I dropped this trailer that was supposed to be OOS to begin with, and went to the yard.

Cleaned out both trucks, and turned in my key to the terminal, and my fuel card.

And the pinnacle of this episode...

"Aww man, don't do that, I still got loads to cover."

Then he shows me the printout of the very PDF file I looked at last night with the 16 hour exception on it, and continues to argue.

"You can put a note in the peoplenet."

"There is no way to out a note in the peoplenet."

"You should have called Steve G, he knows how to do it."

"I called Steve last night, and left a voicemail. He has not yet called back."

"You should have called extended services, they could have helped."

"They would have told me that the exception does not apply, and a ten hour break is required."

Then the phone rang, and he walked back into the cave.

I left.

So..yeah. Called her good 7 days early.

Now, I'm gonna sit home and play Mr. Mom until 10/17 when I head to Menominee.
