2017 gardening thread.

Speaking of garlic, I just pickled some garlic and it turned a blueish green. I have heard of that but, I could not rememer what i had heard.I Google it and it is a chemical reaction,Perfectly safe to eat.
This is going to be epic!
You are eating garlic and it is blue? LOL:biglaugh:
my mother used to pickle eggplant strips, which can be eaten as is, or in a sammich. anyway, this one year, for flavoring she added garlic....they turned purple, scared the crap outta her, she took them all out..lol

Most things, I have pretty good handle on. If I'm not familiar with something, I go to their website for the basics. Did a lot of referencing last year just because it was my first year planting in this zone.
me too..my tropical plants, then one year artichokes, brussel sprouts.

I might try brussel sprouts this year. Last year, my carrots were all super sweet. They put in a lot of sugar for some reason. Everybody loved 'em, but hoping to get carrots that taste like carrots this year.

brussel sprouts are funny..the stalk grows tall, and the tiny buds all up the stalk. very tasty, but take up too much room in my timy garden...same as artichokes. they branch out all over the place, maybe "up to" 3 are bigger than your fist, good for eating, all others are like size of walnuts..not worth it (for me)

I don't care for artichokes anyway. I don't plant melons or squash because we don't eat them and. zucchini is not allowed in my yard, much less, my garden. Zucchini is what people plant when they can't grow anything else. It's nothing but an ego plant and every year, non-gardeners have way too many of them.

zukes, we love and eat, but they vine so much, they nearly grow out to the street. cukes, melons, pumpkins, same..but cukes.zukes can be grown on a trellis to save space. i no longer grow any type of string beans, even on a trellis set up, the vine way too much. my garden only measures 15x15 feet square.

Put a new wicking bed in the big greenhouse today.
You can see the waterline and the weep-hole draining in the second pic.

Why are my pics disappearing from view and getting x'd out after a few days?
Is it file size?
Some of them wouldn't post originally but would after just reducing the size on my screen without changing pixels or anything.

@Duck ?
@Injun ?
