Worst truckstop ever?

So many of these truckstops that look like they should be condemned has horrible food as well. The cheaper the meal the worse it is.I bought a ribeye dinner at a shell.Got to my trk and was about to eat it and it looked as bad as it tasted.I ordered a med done I got almost black and it tasted like a burnt porkchop. The roll could have done some serious damage if I would have threw it at a person. The meal was only $9.00 so that explains why is was so bad.I'm here in my town and going home tomorrow.Im at the truck haven and their food sucks as well,I know because I ate here awhile back.

"Ribeye dinner at a Shell"?
Well you got spunk,I'll give you that. (Leave it alone)
Hey believe it or not some Shells actually have real good food for a truck stop. The shell in Winston,MO has excellent steak dinners and cheese cake. But don't get fuel there. They're like 22 cents higher then Cameron is and that's only like 5 miles apart.I really do believe the better looken the staff is the better the food is.

I pretty much knew the food would be bad just by how the diner, waitress and cook looked. But I was hungry and quickly lost my appetite after looking at it.Hey what can I say,i.m a gluten for punishment,LOL.

Now you have surely got to know that those people are not hired strictly for their good looks or lack of!

I know it.I think their personality makes the food taste worse then their bad hygiene.I very rarely eat in a trk stop restraurant.I mentioned this before but one place i'll never eat again isin Crawfordsville IN at the travle plaza. That cook was very unpleasant to even talk to.Dirty shirt had it greasy cap on backwords, dirty hands and handling the food.Needless to say I tossed it.

The one at I-10 and Hwy 183 in Luling Texas is really disgusting. When you walk in the door the smell hits you like a baseball bat.

Out of my experiences the worst place that I avoid at all costs is the Pilot off of I 70 in Columbus, OH on Wilson Rd. Exit 95 I belive. One entrance/exit, always backed up even to park. You have all sorts of interesting characters from the ghetto nearby roaming the lot at all hours for different purposes. The Wendy's inside seems overpriced with a disinterested staff. The parking lot is composed of cratered permapee and is perpetually covered in trash and assorted filth. It's worth the extra time to go to exit 79 or 126 depending on your direction of travel.

and I spose that Pilot is always packed is'nt it????????????Seems those places are always busy and truckers rather stay at a dive right in the hartland of the city rather then travel a few extra miles with better parking, better staff , better food not so much traffic and more peaceful.I was going to stay at the TA in Denton,TX but looked at the time and thought i'm not going to even bother looking for a place to park,so I traveld 2 exits back and here I sit at the loves. It's more peaceful here anyway.

I hear ya! I could have fought my way through traffic going down 87 into Jersey to take 78 to PA. Then I thought... Oh yeah, only two pilots, always packed, nasty anyway. Screw it, I shut down a little earlier and found this cool little Citgo right off the Thruway. Plus I can leave WAY early and hopefully not encounter as much traffic... Operative word: Hopefully.

Probably the miller transit center on I-97 southof BALTIMORE bathroom was filthy expired snacks and beverages at inflated prices never gave the restaurant a chance but from time to time I use them for fuel when desperate only cause their the only game in town in that general area heck the baltimore washington area is way underserved truck/fuel stop wise

Close second has gotta be the the Ontario Ca TA lines 50-70 peple long at checkout and the few meals I EVER had were awful cook needs to be retrained and the parking lot is. Bigger than aome towns

I use I-97, a lot, and have seen that fuel stop. It appears to be a PITA to get to, so, I've never tried. Now, I know it wouldn't worth the effort. Thanx for the heads up.

In your experience, what's the worst truckstop you've ever been to and why?

The T/A in Montgomery, AL. It's dirty, nasty and the smell of urine from the parking lot is so strong I have no idea how anyone could eat in the crappy restaurant they have there. I experienced that hell hole while waiting for my drop appointment at Big Lots distribution center.

I would have to go with the TA in Gary In, right off 90 exit 3, I used to run back and forth from Chicago to Jersey, and would lay over at that TA, its horrible.
You might as well forget getting any decent service from the restaurant, you actually have to ask the waitress to come over and take your order, or they will just ignore you.

A cook made my omelet completely wrong, then actually came out to tell me that was how it is supposed to come when I sent it back, then then told me I had to pay for it, even though the menu proved her to be wrong.
I refused the cops came, and I showed them the menu and what was in front of me, and they told them I didnt have to pay for shyt but my coffee.
They had added green peppers to it and forgot the cheese, then put one slice on top when I sent it back, it wasn't even melted, plus it still had green peppers in it.
The cook then tried to say she would make a new one and I would then have to pay for it, the cop even agreed that the way she was screaming at me and him, he wouldnt eat anything she cooked.

I have seen the waitresses actually tell people "I need my tip now" right after serving them their food and ppl sometimes did pay or would be man enough to refuse to give them anything until they were ready to leave.

I only ate there 2 times, and only went in to get shower and have coffee and talk to other truckers, it was convenient and nothing more, plus we fueled at TA's.
I finally stopped going inside altogether and stopped at exit 15, fueled, ate and showered, then drove to the the other one, but since the Pilot opened next door, I have never stopped there since.
