Where Are You Parked Tonight? Check-In Thread

Decided to go past the J in Russellville and went another 15-20 to Blackwell travel plaza in Atkins, AR. A healthy 629 for the day. Not bad for having the cruise set at 60 max all day. 190 to delivery in Memphis, hope they take it early.

Do you know what the shortage problem is?
"A global shortage of semiconductors", compounded by delayed shipments caused by the Suez Canal blockade blockage.

That's what I concluded by skimming through a bunch of "news" articles looking for one that doesn't try to blame it on Trump.

I got because of the lockdowns and Stimulus consumer electronics sales surged last year.

Basically people were buying up new tablets and computers.

Automakers operate on Just In Time inventory and we're shutdown for awhile.

Chipmakers found other Customers in consumer electronics while automakers failed to secure long term supply contracts .

Now automakers are planning to eventually stockpile semiconductors if and when the shortages ease

Okay back on Subject.

Just woke up having my morning coffee.

Then I'm gonna get going head into Charlotte before Rush Hour traffic heats up.

Was told back into dock 3 and should have time for a nap before they open at 7.

Afterwards headed up to Winston-Salem to pick up my next load.

Another driver is a day behind me so he switched the backhauls Im going to Iowa now instead of Owatonna.

That's fine with me because Owatonna Costco has some real morons working the guardshack.

Was half an hour late last time and made me call Dispatch to reschedule.

I guess they didn't need those protein booster shakes all that bad or they would've found me a dock if they really needed em

There was also a fire at a major producer and the pressure from competition from other industries like consumer electronics. There was a shortage before the canal incident.
I gotta laugh though. If they weren't such f*ing retards and just used real keys, they wouldn't have this problem.
Our dump truck uses keys, it’s not limited to ignitions. I think he said it has something to do with the power windows

Made it to receiver in Memphis 24 hours and 10 minutes before appt. time. Found out they moved all of my product to another warehouse. It was close by.

In the dock by 0820, looks like I will be done by 0900. 23 hours before my appt.

In the dock at Tri Seal.

As soon as truck next to me is done they'll load me.

Light load only 4950 pounds bet some of the independents are salivating at that.

No it's just office terminology.

They like to feel like they actually accomplish stuff.

Like when dispatchers say "we" meaning "you". Example "What time will we be arriving at the shipper?"

In Mike's case they said "oh we moved that to the other warehouse" when all they probably did was go clickety click on a computer and Mike actually moved it.

Or to be more specific, Mike's truck moved it. 🤔

so, unloaded early with the plan of taking the rest of the day off to get all my tax stuff done.

Then I see a load, can’t resist, and book it.

Now I’m at the shipper and apparently the load shipped on Friday.

Shot myself right in the foot, lol.

How could they move it when it hadn't arrived yet? It was in your trailer. :headscratch2:
Know how dispatch gives ya an address but sometimes they got another place afew miles down the road.

Ocasionally it's in a completely different town but that's the address your dispatch or the broker had on file.

Recovered ok. Posted my truck once I got over here to the Pilot in Jackson, TN. Email and phone exploded with load offers. Ended up with a load back into Oklahoma to deliver Wednesday. Only have something like 10 hours on my 70 and pick nothing up tomorrow, so that works out well.

I had put in an offer for a load to Oklahoma with JB Hunt. Offered $1800, they countered with $1395. Ignored it and went to the load board offers, negotiated a rate, signed and done. Went to go remove my offer at JB Hunt, and they had a counter offer in at $1800, exactly what I had offered, and some other driver had a lower offer in than me, LOL. Withdrew that one.
