McMurdo is a place I'd like to go to someday.

But I'd want to be on the winter maintenance crew, during northern summer when it's like triple digits below zero there.

One winter would pay enough for a house. Kind of like the ND oil fields but even better cuz the NSA or the military provides the housing.

Damn I didn't even notice the C.

I just assumed it was a New Zealand company.

Most air traffic to & from Antarctica goes through Christchurch.

Also the South Pole Edmundsen research center is serviced by McMurdo Station "Mac town" and they're serviced via Christchurch.

According to Wikipedia which is probably where I read all of that.

I'm sure Canada has an airfield down there too somewhere.
