Trucking Trends That Can Go Away Anytime Now...

Perfect segue!!........

All dump trucks should be governed to 60mph.

"stay 200 ft behind" Ok well move out the way or let us pass you.

I know these dump drivers know most motorist hate to be behind them and they just love
to speed up when they see ya coming.

My window is already chirt cracked and trying to pass most of these trucks
when your governed is impossible.

Not to mention major road construction season seems to lasts about 11.9 months around these parts
therefore making these dumb trucks omnipresent.
That's funny. We must be living in very different places. I'm dragging around a pair of loaded dump boxes. Me and a set of B trains are literally the heaviest things on the road here.

Despite this, it's always canners and shit boxes with roll up doors doing 55 in the middle lane for no god damn reason.

I drove about 50 miles in the rain last night with no wipers.

Something mechanical. I can hear the motor grinding.

Meh :dunno:

Old timers like @Fageol might tell you that warm, flat Pepsi will act as RainX for a little while. I heard that when I was younger from a guy much older than I am now. So he's gotta be like 123 by now.

I drive without wipers alot. I keep the windshield as clean as I possibly can and my own version of rainx. If you're moving the rain generally runs off.

I has a friend who would use RainX but NOT the wipers at all.

“It just blows off!”

“Try it with the wipers. TRY IT.”

RainX should not replace wipers.

I have to use wipers when stopped or going really slow. Other than that they are generally on the slowest delay setting. That's in all vehicles too. On my personal vehicles I buy high quality wipers. They seem to keep the windsheild cleaner and that helps the water run off.

If you're moving along below the minimum speed limit, it's a warning to other drivers.
I do it all the time in heavy rain or fog. Don't feel like getting impaled by another trucker who refuses to travel at a safe speed when the weather sucks. Don't care if you kill yourself because you lack discretion. Just don't kill me. I got a wife that I want to see again. Plus, she will come hunt you down and rip your beating heart from your body if you break her heart due to your carelessness. Calm down. No load is worth your life.

Thought that Pepsi or Coke was mostly good for removing bugs and I really don't recall that it was that much better than soap and water. Seems like some sort of wetting agent would be preferable to Pepsi (regardless of the speed of its molecules) in a situation where one has no operating wipers. Bush pilots use a lot of RainX; it works.

Damn, that guy you heard about warm Pepsi from is 46 years older than me. If he doesn't have a birthday in a couple of weeks and I grace Planet Earth for a couple of weeks that difference will be only 45 years. Guess I got some catching up to do. It's hell to be old and slow.

I remember having the flasher debate last year and MN posted a list of states that require them when below xx speed and or visibility and states that didn’t want you to do it at all.

Me staying behind you watching your flashers is more hypnotizing and dangerous than you having them on. If you can't drive in poor weather, don't. You opinion of appropriate speed does not automatically equate to someone elses "lack of discretion".

I always thought it was just a heads up that I am moving slower than you might expect as you drive along with your 1000 yard stare.
