Trucking’s EV endgame still far off, experts agree

Seriously, the transportation industry needs to simply cut off trade with California entirely. International freight can come in & out through the ports in Washington and Oregon, and if those states go full retard too, it'll be time to invest in some seaports and railroads in Mexico.
I been saying it for years..there's already a fault line. Take a sawzall, a BFH, and knock it into the ocean like an iceberg.

Give all the porno babes one last chance to come over though like the heathens in The 10 Commandments w/Charleston Heston.

Everyone is so wrapped up in "Fossil fuel BAD!" that they haven't thought things that far out. Our grid isn't even close to capable of handling the power load needed for full electrification.
AGREE!! over in the eu there screaming to turn the windmills off because the power grid can't take the power that being put back inti the grid

Seriously, what is the goal of everything going electric?
It can't honestly be the environment. Look at what it takes to mine the earth for the materials to build batteries and the energy sources needed to recharge them. look at how toxic batteries are at end of their life cycle.
I don't know for sure how that compares to fossil fuels but lets not kid ourselves thinking electric is THE solution.
what's the goal of all electric:confused-96:? it's a ploy for the tyrants to suck more money out of you!!!

I still like the idea of an EV truck if it has all day range and charging isn't a problem. I love the theory of plugging in at home and never stopping at a truck stop again.

Oil changes, leaks, lack of speed on hills. Diesel can kiss my ass.

But range is still a problem to overcome, and it's easy to just pump a bunch of fluid and move along.

yea but you will have a whole set of other problems with an electric truck

By the time they're affordable to a poor O/O like me they'll have all that stuff sorted out.

People used to think ABS was a stupid unnecessary problematic extra feature that shouldn't have been invented much less mandated. Now they take it for granted. Same goes for EFI and power windows and other assorted things that are nothingburgers for the most part.

Only concern I have right now is sufficient charging locations and seeing if the advertised range holds up.

Beyond that, sign me up for a center seat Tesla.

Had fun chasing MPG with diesel, might be a fun game of range wars in the future with these electric trucks.

Same as long as I could afford one.
