The Island of Misfit Toys


@Snowblind so after that jacked up mess I described to you this morning, my next stop was a terrible follow up. It wasn't a difficult dock to hit, per say. But this company had literally zero real estate upon which to move. They gave me a dock, and I scoped it out on foot before moving my truck any further in. Everything woulda been fine if not for some jackwagon trucker that showed up a day early for his delivery. They weren't ready for him or his freight, and yet there he sat. If he wasn't there, I've got no problems. Well, no major problems. Had to wait for that A-hole to get unloaded before I could get loaded because he was in the way. Absolutely no way I could have docked while he was. Way to go, super trucker, you just jacked up my already jacked up day. Hope you die slowly in a fire, you unwashed fattard. One of the guys at the dock offered to use a yard truck to put my trailer in. But I couldn't bear letting someone else hook my trailer, or feel like a rookie. So I waited for fattard. Even with him gone it was tight. It's been a weird day, man. Since it won't really affect my fuel (this is a really light load) or my delivery, i went a little out of route to hit a spot i discovered when i was running Cummins motors to the Volvo plant down the road. Love this place. It's not always easy to get a spot at this truck stop, so I ain't sayin' squat about it's location 🤣 Killer affordable food, two dollar drafts, and a Walmart super close. The previously mentioned fattard would never make it to the Walmart, it would require moving without passing out, and it's a five or six minute walk at a skinny guy pace. Parking at home tomorrow around noon, delivering about 15 minutes from my house on Monday. As a weird coincidence my old man will be in the area while I'm home. Which of course means I'm going to lose some valuable productive time because I have to make myself available. Christ. Family is a pain in the ass sometimes :rolleyes-80: Alright, I think I'm done venting.

Happy to. I know it'll turn into more than that. He'll invite other people (family) unbeknownst to me, they'll have plans already in place that I'm not aware of, and then I'm screwed. Now I'm sucked into a half-day affair that I just don't have time for. Then I'M gonna be the bad guy for being pissed that a two hour hookup turned into half my day. Happens every time.
 
Wives 20, husbands 0. Never gonna get over how cool my wife is. This is one of the roughest transitions I've ever gone through and she's still telling me I'm awesome. She's something else. If I never say anything else nice to anyone here, take this with you. I hope all of you find someone like her. Everyone deserves a Mrs Junkie. Damn she's amazing.
