Swift set me up to FAIL

well it happened again...... after taking my truck in for the second time (the first time they did nothing) I was told my speedo problem was fixed. I even got a repair order signed by a mechanic..... Well I was stopped and ticketed again for 10 miles over the speed limit, when I know I was going the speed limit (according to my speedo) THATS 3 TICKETS IN 4 WEEKS!
Well truck went back into the shop (for the 3rd time) and yet another repair order saying it's fixed....(signed by mechanic again).... If I don't get out of these tix I'm basically done. They will pull my licence for sure for at least 6 mos. and then insurance will be so expensive for me that no one will hire me. My only saving grace will be the repair orders showing the truck was in the shop 3 different times....I can only hope the judge see it my way.......I hate the company I work for. Swift sucks....

Be careful what you post here. There will be those who have not had speedo problems tell you that it's your fault, the speedo was fine, and you were speeding on purpose. Just as my woes are a figmant of my imagination to those who otherwise had no problems or a good experience with the same companies. Just kidding with you - I'm just in the midst of hateful exchanges with people here who chose to encourage me, and be an adversary.

Believe it or not, I am actually sorry you have had this problem. Some here may think I am glad someone else has had a bad experience to justify my threads. But no, I don't wish this on you.

I hope you made copies of any repair orders. You should have been entitled to something. A speedo problem is not a "minor problem". A couple of miles per hour off at 50 or 60 - okay. But 10 MPH off is way excessive. Swift may be governed at 62 or 65 (whatever they are now - they seem to change every 6 months from what I have read), but if you're on a secondary road where it may be a 50 MPH speed limit, then you could be in trouble. And you should not be expected to be able to "estimate your speed" by the gear you're in with engine RPMs or some fool thing like that. Did you use my suggestion of comparing your speedo with the GPS info (GPS is extremely accurate for speed). Do you have a GPS? Anyway, I hope you DO NOT lose your license, and that somehow you can have the tickets properly adjudicated and maybe you can go on with another company who will give you reliable equipment. Your Swift story is as bad as my Werner where it took them 15 total days and 4 terminal campovers to finally replace a starter that should have been done in the first place.

Anyway, if you "complain" as much as I have here, the general opinion is that it's all your fault. Remember, here it seems you are only "complaining" when the intent is to INFORM.

The way I see it, GAMES are being played these days to keep cycling drivers in the front door and out the back. Swift got their subsidy money for hiring you. That's all they care about. Were you supposed to have your CDL tuition reimbursed by Swift? If so, they'll save thousands of dollars if they get rid of you before your contract term. Swift just laid off hundreds of drivers, yet they keep hiring for the non-existant jobs. And that is for YOU ALONE. Imagine the money they get and save turning over 100 drivers. You figure it out. Turnover rate may have been high in a good economy and the need to fill seats in the trucks, but these companies do not need drivers right now.

Good luck driver, somehow you'll overcome this.
