So, we are now the owners of a new hybrid Prius!

No, Ecotaz is one of those magic fuel pipe vendors. I forgot that it was on the dark side.

They were trying to claim their little pipe was cracking the fuel into smaller molecules without changing any of the physical characteristics , making it burn better. By the end of it he'd had his rear end handed to him by me and a few of the others.

Most of those battery packs are made up of groups of AA batteries. We have a scientist in the lab that specializes in batteries. Big bucks if your in that field. Anyways, when he was a kid in China everyone would bury their dead batteries in the ground for a few days and it would charge them up quite a bit he says. Some effect from the earths magnetic field. All I heard was blah blah blah, bury batteries in the ground.

Oh like that Turbo 3000D thing or, I forget what the gasoline version was called.

We've had a few snake oil salesmen show up on here only to get ripped to pieces and fed to wild boars.

Metaphorically, of course.... o_O

Ask that guy a question for me....

Suppose you take a ¼" copper rod about 18" long... You wrap it with a single layer of wax paper. Then a single layer of aluminium foil, carefully without getting it all wrinkled.. Then a layer of wax paper, etc..... Continue alternating between the wax paper and aluminum foil until it's a foot thick. Each layer of foil is slightly smaller in length than the wax paper so it doesn't touch the other foil layers.

Use sheet metal for the final outer layer so you have something to attach a wire to.

Connect the inner rod and the outer shell to DC power and leave it.

What will eventually happen?

What if, after X amount of time you disconnect the power supply and connect the inner rod to the outer shell with jumper cables?

Ask him. He probably knows.

Easy.....

When you go back in the house your wife will have developed an urgent need for the wax paper and aluminum foil that you just used up. Oooops.

Her... what did you use it for?
You... a project
Her... What's it do?
You.... I'm not sure, I asked Skate
Her... Skate? Does this involve a raft?
You... Maybe.

Upshot being you now have to go get her foil and wax paper. *Trudge, trudge, trudge* to car. Crap, used battery for project. *Trudge, trudge, trudge* to shop. Crap.Key in house. *Trudge, trudge, trudge* Crap. Realize key is on key ring you left in car.

Her... back already?
You... haven't left yet.
Her... hurry up, I need that.

*Trudge, trudge, trudge* to shop. Crap, power off in shop; "project" is glowing and humming. Battery is bouncing all over shop like a wild animal. Crap!!! Jump on 4 wheeler. Drive xxxx miles to only store open this late. Crap. Lots of foil but haven't carried wax paper in years. Substitute saran wrap. Crap. 4wheeler won't start. Walk xxxx miles home. *Trudge, trudge, trudge". Crap. Shop is glowing and is that drums in the background???? Open shop door. Thuuuuwappp!!! Arrow hits door right beside your head. CRAP!!!! "Project" has disturbed time/space continuum and the inside of the shop has become the scene of a full-out Apache attack, Injuns everywhere. The one pointing another arrow at you looks strangely familiar. CRAPPP!!!! Slam garage door. *Run,run, run* to house. Wifey says "Oh, I don't need those anymore". Crap. Peek out window. Shop is now..... melting???? Drums are getting louder. Crap. Hear noise. Both cats are doing "war dance" and howling. Are they wearing headbands???? Crap. Rush to computer. Open new thread titled "You ain't gonna believe this crap". Everybody does :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:. Crap.

Then a horse snorts on the back of your neck and you feel a tap on your shoulder. OHHHH.... CRAP!!!!!!

That the answer you was looking for @Duck???????

I could tell you, but @Skateboard would run back to his cube thinking he had a great, patentable discovery, an' then hurt himself tryin' ta make one...

Preposterous!
@Skateboard never leaves his cube.

WTH did those poor jumper cables do to you?

Sounds like you made a capacitor. Jumper cable would discharge it. I watch them once in a while make batteries in the lab. Lots and lots of small fires. I had NO IDEA all the stuff that goes into a battery. Even small ones. Like vents and fail safe stuff. All the batteries we make have a microprocessor on them controlling the charging and discharging. None of this 90% to 15% when you blink your eye like a laptop.
