Shows you should watch, because I said so.

I lost interest in Survivor after the first season. That was the only one in which regular people were cast. After that, it's been all "beautiful people" and celebrities. *yawn*

Same with Big Brother.

I still watch Survivor because hot chick in wet bikinis who haven't bathed in weeks are still hot chicks in wet bikinis.

This one time, when we first got out first LG HDTV, I was watching and this girl was sunbathing in a wet bikini. The perv cameraman had the angle just right and you could pretty much see EVERYTHING.

I LOVE me some HDTV.

This season of Survivor had John Rocker in it, and it turns out the guy is still just as much an obnoxious douche as when he pitched for the Braves and made all those racist comments.

But yes, the cast does seem to fit a formula. There's always a few old folks, a few smart people, and at least one mouthy minority person that somehow manages to stay around far too long. The challenges are fun to watch though.

Irritates the hell out of me when someone quits the show too. They screen THOUSANDS of applicants, and many people apply many times, and these loser get chapped lips and quit. I think Probst should shoot them out of a cannon off the island when they quit.

I still like Survivor.

Final season of Sons of Anarchy has aired. I have it all DVR'd at home, and we're gonna go nuts binge watching it at some point when the kids aren't around.

Which will be when they do the 20 year reunion no doubt.

Homeland has a 4th season airing now, and I have no idea where this show could possibly go except to follow the exploits of Claire Danes as a CIA station chief somewhere overseas. I have a few episodes stored, and will start watching them soon.

Netflix up here does not feature SOA. That was the reason I got netflix was to watch SOA. A new streaming site was just launched this week and they have SOA, So I was all over that.
I am only on season 4, So I have some binge ing to do.

Z Nation. Zombie show. It's on SyFy, so it's pretty bad. BUT...you remember how Zombieland had that sort of callous, sick humor to it? This show does a good job of that.

At one point they're driving this giant F350 quad cab along, and pull over for something. In investigating whats wrong with the truck they find a still writhing, badly mangled zombie stuff in the wheel well.

The half crazy old man says, "Well that explains the pull to the left!"

I love that kinda stuff.

Gore, zombies, a sense of dread, and a not so thin girl with a spiked bat who manages to keep her hair and lipstick PERFECT all the time.

Z Nation is filmed in Spokane.

GOTHAM

Based on DC Comics Villians, but basically a cop show at this point. The villains are all either in place, or just starting to find themselves (The Joker hasn't even shown up yet) and Bruce Wayne is but a lad who has just now had his parents offed in an alley.

Jim Gordon is but a lowly new detective (not the full blown commissioner he's always been in past storylines) and is one of the most brilliant characters in the show. He wrestles with being a good guy in a sea of corruption constantly, and it's a great character to watch develop.

Harvey Dent is not yet "Two-Face" and still a good guy.

Like I said it's more a cop show, but occasionally takes a leap into comic book land in terms of realism. It's not like watch The Avengers...which is bascially a cartoon but amusing on it's own.

This really is more a down to earth, gritty, monochromatic look at a a very corrupt, rotten to the core Gotham and does a great job of laying out the fantastic task the future Batman has ahead of him. even if you're not a comic nerd, you might like this show.

If you ARE a comic nerd, you'll find yourself looking up stuff as the show happens for a little more depth into things like the Red Hood, the Red Hood Gang, the Falcone Crime Family, the actual origin of The Joker (which has been hinted at in a few different directions so far), and even Alfred Pennyworth's past life as a Special Operations Soldier!

The one hang up I can see is that it's still only in Season 1, and it's frickin 18 episodes long. So I'm thinking it's going to be a 22 episode season.

That's too long. 13 episode seasons is plenty for me ono the few shows I do watch.

Other than that, I recommend you watch this show, even if you're not a comics nerd.

So everyone just gave up TV since last April?

I liked the last man on earth, but there were so many unanswered questions about the virus outbreak and how this small group of people survived.

OH, hey look a 6 year old thread.

RECORD THREAD RESURRECTION TIME.

Big Bang Theory (Bernadette is way hotter than Penny)

Z Nation
- If I could drink beer for a month straight this is the zombie show I would end up writing. And the Russian chick Anastasia Baranova is ...oddly compelling...

Survivor - because I've watched it for so freakin long...

Gotham- Comic nerd back story to DC Universe, Batmans adversaries....Gothams villains' upcomings, and Bruce Wayne is just a lad. I have an entire season to catch up on. Last I watched it the Joker hadn't even become The Joker yet.

Vikings - is coming back in February

and I think the most pirated show in the world several years running....

Game of Thrones - is returning in early Spring.

One of my first posts and I resurrect something that old. I only looked at the date of your last post, granted almost a year ago. Thanks for the TV show recommendations.
