The ATA fat cats are jealous of the manufacturing industry. They can't outsource, so instead they're looking at automation.

Maybe the auto-shift transmissions are more about developing the robot trucks than simply dumbing down the job so they can hire even bigger idiots than they already are.

Cameras pointed at the "driver" will be installed. The driver will be required to just sit there and do nothing but stare out the windshield for hour after mind-numbing hour.

I am not worried here. The cost of these driverless truck will be very high also in the meantime before they pefect all of this technology, They are going to need a driver there for tasks such as fueling navigating city streets, Opening the doors, Clearing customs Etc,Etc.
By the time they are ready to go completely driverless I will be dead or retired, Whatever comes first. probably the latter rather than the former.

I do see some advantages for self driving cars. for idiots that don't know what head lights and turn signals are and for the ones the like to use the opposite turn signals and it would be good for all of the drunks that want to drive home. and if it's stolen then the owner can recover it I am sure that they would put that feature in the trucks also

They'll never work all the bugs out because they can't stop changing stuff. By the time they've fixed one problem, they've changed something else that used to work fine, and the new design will be full of bugs.

Cmon driver their is no reason why a person flipping burgers should make any less then a doctor or anyone else.. We cannot be a true socialist country by refusing these people of what everyone else has.. Your going to hurt their feelings and we all know how wrong that is..

As far as these robo junks I mean trucks I do not understand why yall are upset and fear for a job.. It is going to be great.. Get payed to just ride along without a care in the world. No worries of crashing going down a steep grade or on slick surfaces.. Face it guys VERY smart people are designing these things and you are much more safer because we are just merely dumb truck drivers so anything will be better then us.. I trust these things already and want to ride in 1 right now... And the ultimate prize will be when they perfect them we wont even have to ride in them anymore.. Then we can just sit back in our lazy chair at home and let the good old goverment take care of us because face it we are to dumb to make good choices and take care of ourselves... The government knows whats best for us.. We are so LUCKY to have them
