Nice Cabover Freightliner parked beside me today

Couldn't you at least pick the trash up under the right side cam box before taking that picture? ;)

I will always like the COE's.
Thought about that, then thought about the idea of touching someone else’s trash, lol

You were worried about climbing in?
The drivers I talked to that drove those back in the day were more worried about falling out after a night at the bar or party row. :D

I have never drove a COE, I have ridden in one and it was bouncy AF. I still love the look of the COE.

I can see ya don't spend whole heck of allotta time at Truckstops do ya..

Most Truckstops parking lots are miniature trash landfills and in the summer heat you can actually smell the "Pee" fumes baking off the Blacktop in the hot sunlight....

That's be me in a "Crapcadia" after the Petro "Party Row" Memorial Day Weekend Bash afew years ago...

Or any old Truckstop that sells beer or "walking distance " from a Liquor Store..

Heck how about 3 Truckstops same exit but only the crappy one with no parking sold beer..

Then ya hadda remember which of the other two ya parked at and which side back 40 ya parked it too..all after that 1st 4-pack "Natty Ice" and half pint of Jameson Whiskey

Sir, I go from the entrance, to the fuel island, to the exit. It's been 24 years since I spent any time parking in one. I hope to never have to do it again.

That stench of pee radiating off of the asphalt is a smell that will never leave your nose.

Whever I see an old school cabover it reminds me of those old trucking movies and tv shows that used be popular when I was a kid..

Can't help but to "daydream" about what trucking would have been like back in the "Good Ole Days" every time I see one out on the road
you would not have liked being in one, that is once you catch your breath from climbing in.

then you'd hold onto that grab bar for dear life in the winter, and hope it wasn't iced over.

it was a very quick drop to the ground if it was.

you didn't miss much not being in one or driving one.

there was a couple of old sayings we had back then,

"you'd have a front row seat to the accident you got into."

or

"you're always the first one to an accident"..

the first "hood" i got into after i was re-assinged, after getting out of a cabover, i swore off cabovers.

you ain't missed anything

Setback axle day cabs are bad enough, I don't think I could tolerate sitting DIRECTLY over the steer axle.

Although I would finally stop obsessing over hood mirror shake. 😃

I actually miss driving the old Ford in a lot of ways. It only has a lap belt and I'm a believer that the forward axle trucks ride better partly because they cradle more of the motor behind that axle, so they're less front heavy. I also think it helps them track straighter with more wheelbase for the same LOA.

I HATE those mirrors on the hoods. Especially when the hood is open. OUCH! DAMMIT! Leave those stupid things to the rookies that can't judge their vehicle.

I like them for tight maneuvers in the yard and seeing if my clearance lights are working. They're not much use going down the road otherwise.
