Well I guess I’ll just have to stick with what my boss tells me to do but if we’re not required to keep a short haul log book then why does JJkeller even make one?....lol. But yeah, I’ll re read that but like I said, I more/less looking for official instruction on how to properly fill that log book out that we supoosedly don’t need. And besides that, we just got audited and we had to show them those log sheets so tell me again that they ain’t required.

It’s not that I did it on purpose, I just thought it wasn’t necessary to disclose but why would that matter? But how do you go without filling out a log book?

Goin back to that screenshot you posted from that escr.gov or whatever it was website; it sounds down below where I circled it, that the employer of the driver must retain time records for six months... that log book is our record. And yeah, the other guy says he’s paid by the hour but where in the book does it say a card you punch in a time clock is a suitable record of time?
Right there at the bottom. Why wouldn’t it be if shows ya workin less than the allowed hours?
Well, I just got off the phone with a representative from the FMCSA and she pretty much verified that you need to have a log of your hours in your vehicle so if you ever get pulled over, you have to have your last seven or eight days worth of logbooks to show that officer, just the same as you do if you were an over the road driver.
Never been asked that. I think there may have only been one other time I’ve been asked to see my logs but the cop just glanced over them.
I downloaded that app and am trying it out but as far as it being an official record of hours of service, I question that because there’s 100% driver control over it. But then again, short-haul drivers aren’t required to log on a bona fide, uncheatable ELD so of our paper log is all we got them who’s to say this wouldn’t be able to pass as well?
The 150 air miles is a 150 miles straight as the crow flies in any direction. Land miles don’t have a thing to do with it because any road could yield any mileage from the center of your radius to that outer line.
You just gave the conversion for nautical miles to statute miles.
That's odd that they'd use a unit of measurent only used by boats and aircraft for something like that.
