My Kid Has Officially Joined The Navy - Aviation Ordnanceman

Graduation as an E3 is amazing. I graduated an E2 because of my ROTC I’m High School. Nobody graduated E3.

We had one guy in our company who did 4 years in the Army before the Marines so he had a hash mark and graduated E4. He was going to do all fours services to get his 20.
He oughta get more than 20 for that.......

Made E3 in ait, E4 by 6 months TIS.

Got into a couple "fasttrak" programs in ait and as a result made rank due to college credit and asvab scores out the roof.
Some of you guys are good. I think I made E-4 in a little more than 2.5 years. And I only made it because I caught the battalion XO (a major) trying to sneak a Benz that he bought in Germany back to the USA at the Army's expense. After making sure copies of his dummied-up paperwork were back in California, I gave him a choice of my turning over copies of his BS paperwork to the IG or getting promoted. That major and I hated each other. But I got the last laugh. I wouldn't doubt it if I heard that he got fragged in Nam.

So, what you're saying is that your daughter is locked up in federal custody? 🤔

😁

For 5+ years.

Boot camp this go around is very strange because of Coronavirus.

Indoor workouts only. They are doing nothing in groups. I’m guessing drill won’t be much of a priority.

The battle stations that are part of boot camp, cancelled.

If I am reincarnated, and decide to join the military, I hope to attend boot camp during a virus panic, lol.

The navy itself has relaxed many regulations. They are allowed to grow their hair out, physical fitness evaluations have been cancelled, as has many other things the Navy does.

Now, anybody heading to recruit training can take books, gaming devices, and a couple other things with them.

Why? because when they show up, they will spend 14 days in quarantine before they begin training.

So basically they stare at their phones and tablets all day? 🤔

If he wasn't too old, my dad would graduate basic training as an admiral by those standards.

No, this isn't part of boot camp. This is merely a 14 day quarantine they must stay in before boot camp starts.

Received out 2nd letter today. No idea how many momma has sent her already. A couple a day at time, I think. Lol.

Sent my first one today. Did it via Sandboxx. She told her mom about it, and it is the perfect way for me to get we letters from the road. Type it out on my phone, include a pic, and it prints out at the base. $4 per letter, I got a discount for purchasing several up front.

She said drill sucks, lol. She has it figured out, I taught her before she left so she would be locked on. The rest of her unit is clueless, though, as I can remember my unit being in the beginning.

Just over a month til graduation!

I'd heard the Navy doesn't even qualify with firearms in basic anymore.

I guess most of them don't need to...

But still seems like a bad idea to me.
