Just a digital measurement lol. There is one manufacturer I believe Isuzu is .003-.005. But eh. I don’t know if you’d really notice a difference.
It’s actually really hard to measure that little play. I forget what king pins are for free play but it was down around 1 to 5 thou. Even with a dial indicator set up it’s ridiculous trying to accurately measure that

I couldn’t imagine measuring runout on a 43” tall tire made of RUBBER. I’d think you’d be happy if you had less than a half an inch of wander on a rubber tire let alone measuring down into thousandths :D

The guy from Minnesota brought up run out and balancing tires. They’re one and the same, you can’t balance a poorly made tire with a lot of runout

But trying to measure that down to a thou is impossible when it’s RUBBER

As far as I can figure out the guy from Minnesota is talking RUBBER

This whole conversation started because of out of round tires, then the guy from Minnesota talking about run out on RUBBER tires and somehow “trueing” up a RUBBER tire to 0.001” of run out :coocoo:

Then to muddy the waters the guy from Minnesota posts a link to a TIRE manufacturer claiming 0.030” to 0.075” of radial runout is acceptable

THEN contradicts himself by saying 0.001” per inch of run out on a TIRE is not the correct spec

43” tall tire at 0.001” per inch is 0.043” run out WHICH MATCHES THE YOKOHAMA link he posted earlier

So either he’s just a huge troll or nobody’s paying attention :coocoo:
 
All of the bullshit comments about everything but tires didn't come in until I asked if people even knew what the lateral and radial run-out specs were.

Then in true troll fashion it went into 4 pages of people arguing about stupid shit in a tangent off the original topic.
