Awesome plan. I'm currently working on a high tech chicken coop on wheels that I can move around the yard. Also trying to figure out a reliable fully automatic watering system for the garden and greenhouse, and a system that opens & closes the greenhouse vents as needed to regulate temperatures and humidity so I can leave it unattended for a few days when I go out of town.First and foremost.. I have just received my CDL, so when I say I'm new..I'm really New.
I am a 55 year old female. My kids are grown and have a families of their own. I have been on the road before, driving expedite but never have I drove a big truck. Never thought I would, especially now since the demographics has changed drastically in the trucking industry. I live in the vallies of Virginia in the beautiful southwest region of the Appalachian mountains. Reason why I wanted to drive is simple. I want to make enough money to buy me a patch of unzoned land where I can homestead peacefully and live off the land.

What I did when I started in 2004 and had an employment gap was I just said I was self employed during that time. I had to get 3 people to sign something to that effect.I would like to do regional/local runs. Preferably. I took my CDL training at my local community college. I sent in an application for one trucking company that would hire new CDL holders, but they wouldn't move forward because I have a gap in my ten year work history period. So I have found another company that only require a three year work history, but I don't know if they will hire me because I don't have three months or better driving experience. It's all so tiresome.
But good for you with your gardening, greenhouse and raising chickens! Nature's apothecary![]()

You have my blessings. I did 46 years as a local fuel hauler. Loved the customers and accounts, hated the drivers on the road. Truck and car.I would like to do regional/local runs. Preferably. "The first step to recovery is admitting you're blind as a bat." -Franklin Delano Roosevelt, aboard the USS IWO Jima, 1789.I was really looking for local runs. Not really wanting to drive otr. Smh my head, my night vision isn't really the best. I mean I'm not blind but on the other hand I should be able to feel comfortable and safe while driving a death machine in the dark..
Haha I noticed the Smh my head twice![]()

. Once you get used to driving an 80,000 missile it will be just like driving a large car
