The long hood Pete is gone the way of the dinosaurs too.
Now, trucks will be just like cars. Rolling nondescript blobs rolling down the road.

"Nondescript blob".

That's definitely getting entered into my daily vocabulary

It describes nearly every car on the road today.

I remember mine being down for 4 months due to a DEF quality sensor. It was during the 'plandemic' and the part was back ordered. I kinda liked getting paid for sitting at home all that time.

I was over the road paid by miles.

Get layover $75 bucks I almost hadda pull teeth & threatened 2 "Quit".

Then they gave me $100 bucks

I just noticed today that a local company known for having really sweet clean W900s with beautiful paintwork has moved on to the new T680s. Still with beautiful paintwork though.

Sadly, the math doesn't lie. These new trucks get amazing fuel economy and anyone doing long haul can benefit from it and the uptime from getting out of aging trucks.

I did a few Coors loads for Schneider. For some reason 45k of beer feels heavier than 45k of paper. Lol.

I played East Bound and Down on repeat the entire trip.

I did notice "don't freeze" on the BOLs and I was always like it's a rail can I have nothing to do with that.

Go to a Millis oreintation class teach ya all about that stuff..

They also hauled Tile and building supplies ..

They Bread & Butter was Beer Hauls a contract with Miller brewing.

Also while at Millis Tranfer hauled some Lienekugals outta Chippewa Falls

The T660 was nice and a tight truck, no squeaks and rattles. The T680 was nice but a louder in the cab and bunk. Maybe my company didn't pay for the arctic package that is more insulated and keeps outside noise outside.
T680 still has a nice layout. A table that swings out, flat screen t.v. mount that is adjustable not like the Pete 579. Captain chairs that spin around (passengers' side) so you can do paperwork or laptop work on the table that swings out.
Also, A level floor unlike the T660 that had a step for some reason.

I drove a Peterbuilt 386 for awhile at Dejnos Trucking.

Im not a really big guy but that cab was still tight and ya coffee cup holder was almost on the floor.

The sleeper was okay though had plenty of room my stuff and a good matress I could actually sleep on.

Up in Minnesota when a driver quits they throw the matress away put a cheap one in there I had better matresses in jail than what they put in those Freightshakers.

I eventually went to Target bought a nice Air Mattress gave theirs back to the shop all ya could feel was the springs and I couldnt sleep.

Jail/Prison Foam Matresses were better than that.

Over the Road ya gotta sleep too so ya can be alert
