Hunting/Fishing photos and stories

Do you know weight. He’s a beast. Pic I posted must be about a 2 yr old. Biggest I’ve seen this season.
I dont know what he weighed hardly anyone weighs deer any more. Years ago you had to bring your deer to town to register them. It was usually at a gas station. They would bring in a scale and have big buck contests and such. Now you register them by phone or online.

Its real easy and convenient and you're not going to town and waiting in line for an hour but I miss the old way. It was fun setting in the parking lot looking at everyone's deer.

@MJ1657 A guy that archery hunts on my property shot a big doe the other night with big black wart like growths on its head about the size of a walnut do you think it would have hurt the meat? I found pictures of it on the web but couldn’t get a good answer.

Sheesh im not sure. I've never came across that. I guess I'd probably call the DNR and see what they say.

I dont like to see game wasted but I tend to err on the side of caution.

I don’t either but he was pretty grossed out by it,made wear gloves when I helped him dispose of it. It was easy to find pictures of it on the web but Im not smart enough to show you.

I've never had anything like that with big game. I do run across some unusual things with ducks and geese occasionally. Pellet in the breast from a previous year that causes an infection stuff like that. They get tossed.

Made some pheasant habitat today. Knocked four rows of milo down. It will make it easier for them to eat it and it will provide cover after there is a snow blanket. This property borders a lake that is a federal migratory waterfowl resting area. Aka you can't hunt for ducks and geese on it. Its bordered by lots of cattails. The pheasants spend a lot of time in those cattails. 20201025_140643.webp20201025_140505.webp

Did anyone ever figure out what was up with that zombie deer in the video walking around with its entire back torn off?
