Where do I find the TRUCC ACT?Patty read up on the TRUCC Act and all the numbers they keep giving it as they kick it around and out.........
Well why not they should.Afterall the shp tells them the brokers what the load pays dont they????? so its the brokers duty to tell the driver don't ya think????So what if u ask how much does it pay TOTAL does the broker tell u and if the broker does tell u is he telling the truth or as u all call it skimming the rates???????????
They will not show you the contract with the customer 'cause then the driver WILL KNOW just how much he is being cheated out of, they might tell you but you can't believe them because they won't show you

Hey flat, in all honesty I have never had a driver ask me what the shipper is paying, only what the load pays. I personally dont feel the driver needs to know the total, same as I have never asked a broker that when securing a load for my truck. If the rate is fair and I can make money I take the load, if the rate is chickenshit I black list the broker in my computer and ask the broker not to call my company anymore.
I have a 04 freight liner with a 53 reefer. My base rate is $500.00 dollars a day plus fuel plus the driver. This is how I calculate my rate. If its close I mat drop a little, but you are talking a few dollars, not hundreds.
As far as drivers having there fsc stolen, I dont know. All of my shippers give me a flat line rate. I dont break my rate confirmations down with a fuel surchurge. It is a flat rate, period. The only exception is $50.00 an hour detention after two hours and unloading fees. Now I do have one shipper who re imburses for tolls and the driver gets that as well on loads going to the bronx.
Damn that's skimming, or stealing or anyother word u want to put on it................JJ I admire u for your honesty I really do.But why do u feel the driver does'nt need to know the total????????You know the total so don't ya think that's only fair the driver needs to know????????I do.The rate might be fair to u but if it pays more then the driver needs to know and deserves that extra money.Drivers have a real tough time out here and I think if they can make a better profit then what they are making then HELL YA GIVE IT TO THEM.
It's someplace on here,But google it you will find it faster............
yep I would say so.Wish something could be done about it.You o/o work hard out here and u have alot of bills to keep the trk running u deserve every bit of that money that is coming to u brokers should not keep one extra cent other then the 10%..Companies rip us company drivers off as well only we dont have the bills u all have.Damn that's skimming, or stealing or anyother word u want to put on it................
Smaller companies would who pay %. When you r paid by the mile it really does'nt matter to the driver as far as the rate.
That is SO WRONG in every way possible.Too bad u can't go directly to the source who is paying for the load to be delivered or can u??????
And that will and won't ever happen. But if the brokers r forced to be held accountable? In almost every form of money market game except loan sharks their r caps.
Brokers are of course defending their practices well if they won't tell the drivers just exactly how much the load pays and not lie about it what would u call that? You o/o should be making more then just enough to survive.I mean youre out here to make money which means alot more then just enough for fuel, mainteniance ect.I mean not being nosey but r u making much of a profit as an owner op or just enough to keep your head above water?Does alot of brokers skim your rates and if so would u be making much more if they were honest? Many owners go back to company driving because they arent making much out here.Officially, not likely, however I hauled out of Alcoa down the road for years, I got to know a girl who used to work in the sales office, she started working sales at the local mawson and mawson office and she told me just how bad the one brokerage was ripping the drivers off, everybody at Alcoa knew it but did not do anything about it, really nothing they could do about it anyway. What goes around comes around, the guy who owned and ran that brokerage office died from a heart attack at 58.
