Yeah I've already got a line of credit I can use for a rebuild if needed. Not the best rate in the world but way better than a credit card or those vulture loans that know you're desperate.

The truck isn't collateral so it can't be taken.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want debt. But if the motor goes on me before I can make much revenue I won't have much choice.

I'd rather owe for a rebuild than the truck or the truck and a rebuild.

My neighbor lost his truck due to a drop in revenue. Until then he was ballin in a nice Pete 389 glider. He's with a FedEx contractor now.

It's pretty much tapering off now. Most of the big money stuff is gonna wait until I'm closer to using it.

DOT spare and two new pair already on their way. No worries.

Interestingly, I'm only eyeglass restricted while operating a CMV. Without a DOT number it's not a CMV. I can legally drive a semi tractor without seeing a damned thing.

Welp. It forced my hand. Either the PTO or the seal finally gave up the ghost and pissed my tranny fluid all over the place. So it's at a diesel shop (not a chain) to get it fixed or removed. Also having them put my front brake chambers on since I chickened out, replace the steering shaft u joints, replace the drag link boot and grease fitting, figure out why it shakes, and give it a fake DOT inspection so I know what else it's going to need.

This is that suck it up and spend real money part I've mentioned before.

It shouldn't actually be too bad unless that motor is shot and I'm too dumb to know it.

An oil sample to a real lab would tell you a lot about whats going on in there...
