Or what anyone’s company policy is.Why do you even GAF how fast we can run?
It's one thing to bitch and another to constantly be derided. You guys are a trip.
You ***** and complain about megas and then defend the very policies with your own companies when called on it.
That there’s a heluva nice image...Well I mean I certainly don't wanna do you. And I don't want you to do me.

I do the same even though I don’t have to. My pay is based off the revenue. But I take it all into consideration. I am limited on where I can fuel so if I can make it to a State that has cheap fuel then I do. I fix all my own lights and a lot of the trailer wiring. Anything more they don’t want me to touch and want me to go to a shop though. You also have to look at the fact that if you give some of these 'drivers', a truck that would run 90 mph, a damned good amount of them would be trying to run down the left lane with the 100 mph four wheelers through downtown BFE and we would all be tied up in traffic jams because of the crashes they would cause.
I've driven castrated trucks and I've had companies that left them wide open. That doesn't mean you have to run it wide open, but it's there if you should need it. The truck I have now is castrated by the gearing, not the computer. It runs 84 at 1800. That's all you are going to get out of it without doing some gearing mods. I set the cruise at 71-72, get 6.5 mpg out of it as an average and just do my job. If I do need to step out in that left lane, I can. I would love to blast down the road with the rest of the crazies at 80+, but it's very hard on the equipment. Not to mention your own sanity.
In the company that I work for, every truck is it's own little company. The expenses over revenue are all set up from the vehicle payment to the insurance to the drivers pay. In an overall year, my unit sees a profit and I like it to. I look for the cheapest fuel stops, do my own small repairs and operate the truck like I'm the one paying the bills. Many, if not most mega drivers don't see what the operational expenses are of a truck.
One minor accident can take away the profits for the whole year.

For those that don’t believe it existed. This is what a dirty TMC truck looks like. All of these are close ups as when I step back the dirt don’t show near as bad in the pic.

I always picture your safety guys as these former SEALS with black ops pants, holstered flashlights, high and tight buzzcuts, and beer guts because it's been some years running around super high strung looking for offenses.Maybe, you never know what saftey will do.
