TMC is for some people and not for others. It’s a good fit for me. They pay me well. It’s their equipment, I will maintain it how they wish.

Not for you guys, I get it. That’s why y’all don’t work here. Doesn’t make TMC a bad place to work. And I won’t do cameras in the truck and someone telling me how much time I can spend in the sleeper. That’s why I don’t work for Walmart. Plus Walmart is literally the devil. Not necessarily the fleet but the business as a whole. I don’t like Walmart. And try to avoid using them. But y’all do you, ima do me.

"Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong." -Luke Skywalker.

Nobody tells me how long to spend in the sleeper, and the cameras are covered up facing inward. And your misuse of the word "literally" is also sad.

What I'm saying is there's no pay scale ever high enough to put up with that micro-managing crap, and I've hauled shit that would make the most senior TMC commando piss his (or her) pants. So, no.

I totally get demanding a bit of a higher standard, but that crap is just foolish. There was nothing wrong with your tarps as they were. They didn't look like a deflated drag chute.

Dude, they're beating you to death for peanuts, and you're buying right into it.

It's just flatbedding.

Oh I’m wrong huh? How bout where you said they get upset when you spend over 13 hours in sleeper? I’ll go thread digging if you wish.

A camera is a camera wether inward facing or outward facing. I don’t want it.

No I believe Walmart to be pure evil incarnate so my use was correct.

I am not micro managed, I start my day when I want I end my day when I want no one checks up on me or gets on my case. I made the mistake of not putting tarps away and leaving the truck parked at the terminal for Saturday morning inspection. I could of parked elsewhere but it was convenient to see my friends I was seeing.

How are they beating me to death?

Let me tell you about being beat to death for no pay. 3x deployments to Iraq.

I go someplace I load shit I take it to a different place and unload shit. And I make 75-80 a year to do it. And I love it. That’s all that matters.

There is a policy that says that You;re not supposed to spend more than 12 hours on break, but it's trumped by federal coercion laws, so it's null and void.

And that type of micro-managing is brow beating, plain and simple.

You're not in Iraq anymore.

You've confirmed everything I said.

Hahaha whatever, I wouldn’t work for Walmart if it was the last place on the planet to lawfully employ people. You have at it.

Why you down here with us slob ass truckers anyway and not up hanging with the high society type you prefer. You know the way I phrase things irritates the shit out of you to begin with. Really that’s the only reason I’m still replying to you is to continue to annoy you with my sub-par literary skills.

I’m not the one who thinks being held up for tarps not being rolled a certain way is some sort of normal thing.

They really have you hook line and sinker. It’s amazing.

Someday you’ll realize all this and understand that I’m trying to be helpful here.

You could make the same money at many other places without that level of BS.

And it IS BS...

Didn’t hold me up at all. Didn’t leave till the next day.

I don’t want to drive some shitty Volvo or Freightliner that’s gonna be broke down in a shop half my life because Jim’s trucking don’t maintain it, and don’t want to spend any money fixing it.

Company policy tarps are to be stored in the cabinet, side box or belly pan, not on the deck. Like you chose to ignore the 12 hour rule I chose to ignore the tarp rule. I strapped them bitches down right on top my plate steel.

I won’t work for mileage pay, and I don’t want to pull a box at this point in my life. As I said I like where I work and I LOVE what I do. When that changes I’ll find something else.

Helping me? No. Belittling me? Yes. But I’m not other members of this board who will go on diatribes about that.

Maybe when you want to “help” someone it is better to present your argument using facts not in a derogatory manner.

I dunno just me. When I see some dip shit with 2 5/16” chains on a 48k coil starting to tarp it. I don’t tell him how stupid he is for tarping it. I say hey let me give you a hand. And explain how 2 5/16” chains aren’t going to hold that 48k coil to the deck if he has to stand on the brakes. And help him finish securing it.

In all honesty I initially thought I got the tag because I was trying a new way of hooking the chains to the new Fontaine trailers we have. It doesn’t have traditional stake pockets and spools. So I thought that’s the reason for the tag went into the shop and asked the guy I get along with there and he informed me saftey put me down for tarps on deck.

While no, I don’t agree with the tarps on the deck rule. It’s their rule. Again I could
Choose to work elsewhere. But I like it here. I will stay here.

I didn’t belittle you. I just said you’re totally brainwashed.
I’m not brainwashed. I don’t tell everyone they need to work here. That it’s the only place to work. I like it here. I enjoy a well maintained truck and trailer. I enjoy the places I go, I enjoy the freight I haul. Sure I could do it somewhere else for less money, or in shitty equipment, but I like where I’m at and that’s all that matters.

I think what is perturbing you most at this point is I don’t accept your opinion as gospel. While I do respect the way you think as with many others. For me personally it’s a good fit. I like that I get dispatched and no one talks to me again till I’m empty. I like the money I make. I enjoy the equipment. What more do I reg3 need?

Yeah but I make 80-90 and don't have to do any of that crap.

The only time I'm out out of service is when I'm being a peckerhead by not coming into the office when they want me to.

I’m not perturbed either.

If you want to buy their crap and think it elevates you in some way go for it. It’s more a cause for pity than anything.

We had another guy years ago that started from TMC, and he had much the same mentality.

“I learned how to do it that way at TMC, mind you!”

Oooohhhhh....

On one level you separate yourself from the gig by saying it’s about the money, on the other level you’re all hopped up on the company itself.

Figure it out.

Myself, I could quit trucking entirely tomorrow because there’s not much I’m interested in anymore. Doesn’t matter where I work, it’s going to be about the money and time off.

It’s just a job. They’ll replace you yesterday.

I don’t want to be home daily, and I don’t want to deal with rail yards, and I don’t want to work overnight.

They probably already have my replacement hired.

I used to work on a lot of companies shit. And it was shit.

I appreciate rules and standards. I did before I went to work at TMC. And no shop I ever worked in had them. They said they did. But they never enforced shit.

Don’t pity me. You don’t like what you do then do something else. You’ll probably have a happier existence if you find something you enjoy.

I don’t care about money. If I did I would still be at Freightliner. But I do have financial obligations to meet and driving for 46cpm somewhere (regular flat mind you) that has decent equipment that’s only gonna run me 2200 miles a week ain’t gonna get it done.
.46 is maverick our biggest competitor.

I am trying to explain, at great length and with much pain, because you just don’t get it. I had this mentality long before TMC. I like things being well kept, super clean, and on a schedule. Almost to the point I’m OCD about it. There are times when I was in the shop I would have to stop and put all my tools away and clean the work area before continuing because for me it was too much chaos. Other guys could have their whole tool box on the floor picking through stuff and be fine.

Again I’ll say you do you man, and I’ll do me.

My thing about the tarps is they're fine right there and there's absolutely no reason to handle them again until the load comes off. THEN you could put them away properly.

This is extra work for 🐎💩 reasons.
