Well it’s here, the day we go to 100% ELD. Got an hour worth of **** to download in the morning before I can start my day. After watching the videos put out by safety. It will be 100% different logging process from what I have had the last 3 years. Shout out to the worthless ****ing government for not allowing AOBRD to be an acceptable logging device. Douche waffles. Anyway. Not looking forward to this fun in the sun. I get it say 4 or less and no drive yard move if going 5-10 or just throttle and go on the drive line. Eh it is what it is.. we will see how easily we get switched as going from Telogis to Peoplenet was not a smooth transition.
Yeah don't try to get through a lot at under 5. It's really just a waste of time. If you blip over you'll lose all that rolling time as it'll back up the status to the second the truck started moving. It doesn't just change it from when you went over 5.

I've found that I can tame it on a drop and hook that are next to each other or are super close, but that won't apply to you often if at all. And you just end up pissing everyone off when you creep.

Just be deliberate about popping that sucker On or Off Duty the second you can. Can't speak for yours but ours don't talk to the ignition anymore so shutting the truck off won't do it like it used to.

IOW accept it, don't fight it. Lol.

Yeah, ours stopped talking to the ignition when we went to enhanced AOBRD.

10-4 we still had it until they went with the new tablets.
What system are you guys using? Just curious. I went from Qualcomm to Keeptruckin. I feel like the new system is a little more forgiving. Doesn't seem to pop into drive as readily as the Qualcomm did. I am not a fan of change, but I'm loving the new logs a lot once I got used to them.

Does yours make a difference if you pull the brakes? I haven't experimented enough with mine to know. It used to on my Qualcomm. Can't tell yet if it does on the new system. So far I kinda feel like it does but i haven't had enough trial and error situations over the last month to determine if that's the case.

I think Schneider has some kind of custom designed thing. They keep pushing updates all the time. Kills my tablet on the weekends since I don't plug it in.

It'll kick drive the second it gets to 5mph and there's zero tolerance for the threshold. Even a microsecond of oops and you're toast.

I like the fact that we're on Samsung tablets but I don't like the logs themselves. I'm adapting and the nature of my work means I'm minimally affected though.

We've been on them since before I came back in February. When I got there they had already switched over.

I'm not sure what kind of affect you mean.

Every company has a minimum set of standards they must meet in order to be compliant. There is a maximum distance that you can creep before your unit will kick you into drive. Companies always give you less than the standard to ensure they are within the rules. I have no idea what the government mandate is. At Landstar it was a half mile. But, if I pulled the breaks and paused a minute, the countdown started over. Moot point now because I have yard moves. One of these days I'm gonna play with it when the opportunity presents itself.

RPMs will trigger it too, not just speed. I dropped mine into manual mode once to make sure my speed was under 5mph, kicked into drive anyhow because of engine speed. At least that's the explanation I got from our log department. Didn't hurt me any, I was just testing the fences. The more you know...

Ohhhh. We're not timed. I won't say how I know.

Right on. Probably for the best. Our PC is weird too. Not based on time, it's based on miles. That's awesome for me, because that means I can pretty much always get home. Run my clock til I'm out of time, then I can PC for up to 100 miles. Since I park at a truck stop and not at home, it's all good. On my old system PC was based on time. And only if my company approved it. I think there needs to be a set standard for everyone so as to alleviate confusion. But I'm just a dumb trucker, what do I know? :confused-96:

We have no timer or distance that I'm aware of, just the 5 MPH. We also have no PC though. And no yard moves.

I have never been able to locate the guvment list of rules for that stuff. I am only aware that anything your company gives you is within their rules, and less than what the guvment will allow you to have. No PC sucks, I'm sorry man :( What are you allowed to do if there's an emergency at home?

The only setting I have discretion on setting is speed. And right now that's a max of 15 mph.

There is no maximum distance or anything.

I currently allow PC and yard moves. And it will continue as such after we switch to ELD mode if it's still there for us.

Wow, that's awesome. I kinda remember that from when I was at Millis. It's been a really long time though since I've been able to do that. Seems like a millennia ago. Man I miss that so much.
