I almost had a complete meltdown on a CAT scale in Amarillo this past weekend.
I had slid my fifth wheel and slid my tandems to make sure I was legal for California and decided to double-check to make sure my weights were ok.
Pull up on the scale, and open up my Weigh My Truck app. Accept the cost, and wait for the braindead cashier to notice I am on the scale and authorize it. Simple operation, right? Wrong!
As I waiting, some dumbass decides to walk across the scale behind the trailer.
Still waiting for authorization.
Next thing I know, I hear something on the truckstop loudspeaker about the scale. So, I roll my window down.
A few seconds later, a guy comes on the CAT scale speaker and says I need to pull off the scale.
I ask what for.
Then, another idiot walks across the scale behind my truck. I'm getting annoyed with truck drivers at this point.
Then out walks this Love's employee.
"you trying to weigh the truck?"
"That's what I'm on the scale for".
"you need to push the button"
"Why do I need to push that button, when I've already pushed the buttons on my app? Tell the genius inside to do his job".
He starts to walk inside, and then....
Another truck driver starts to walk across the scale, this time in front of the truck.
I hit the horn and tell him to get off the scale.
"oh, you getting weighed?"
"Yeah, dumbass, and I don't need your fatass adding 400 pounds to my steer axle weight".
He ducked his head and then walked around.
I swear the level of stupidity is growing at an alarming rate.
Once the Love's employee got back inside, I magically had my weights appear on the app.
