4.56 ratio 3406B CAT with 15speed

Only if you're going to be doing some heavy haul or running local in a mountainous area with tons of steep hills.

I am a mechanic not a trucker yet.

It’s a solid truck, extremely low miles and in original condition.

DUCK you saved this conversation. I was about to give up on this site.

Also thanks 389 Hood and others.

The truck has got me in its web.

I will purchase and just have to figure the rest out later

Thanks

I wouldn't be afraid of the specs, just the condition and whether I could afford/had the ability to take care of whatever comes up.

If you're a HD mechanic it probably won't be a big deal.

Also...you're going to need a good amount of patience and a sense of humor to keep up with that truck.

So this site is valuable in that regard also. Because these people will certainly test your patience from time to time. And so will that truck.

Another question.

Does it have 46000 lb rear ends?

Also, pardon my fantastic stupidity...

It's the "direct/overdrive" selector.

The "range selector" is the black lever on the front of the gearshift.

Imagine like 7 or 8 years from now when we all feel old as shit talking about this to people who've never even seen a truck with 3 pedals?

Anyone else curious as to how a "mechanic" wouldn't know this already?

Seems to me gear ratios for a mechanic would be fairly basic.

Alright then!

Deleted a bunch if stuff and cleaned up this thread just in case it's a real poster actually asking questions.

But I have my suspicions...
