I had traditional R/AK (Radial/Astigmatic Keratotomy) 19 years ago. My far sight is still 20/20 with some remaining astigmatism. My eyesight was so bad before the surgery that I couldn't see the second line on the Snellen chart. I could barely see which direction the top "E" was pointing.

Today, I still do not yet wear reading glasses, but that is more out of stubbornness than anything else. I really should use them. My arms are getting a bit short these days.

I don't believe Lasik will help short vision. However, my dad recently had cataract surgery done. She had very bad vision before. The new lenses they implanted completely corrected her vision. She does not use glasses at all anymore. No, the pronoun used was not a mistake. You can pick your friends.....well, you know..

I have always hesitated to have eye surgery of any kind, for the simple reason I've never heard of one with a 100% success rate. I'm not willing to risk my eyesight. Glasses are annoying, but they correct my vision with the least risk of complications.

Sometimes goop from the nose travels up the nasolacrimal duct and settles in the eyes. You did right with the warm water....

Doubtful its pink eye, but if someone farted on your pillow.....we won't go there again.

I woke up one morning at home and couldn't open my eyes. There was all sorts of crusty stuff on the outside. It hurt to try and pick it away. I felt my way to the shower and the warm water did the trick. That was the end of it? Have no idea what that was.

If I had to do it all over aging I would still get the Lasik again. After wearing glasses for 30 plus years I had forgotten what it was like not to have a pair of glasses on every second your awake. Best money I've every spent on myself............other than my Doc Johnson penis implant extension.

A few words of wisdom- if you are cross-eyed, you are a lot less likely to get a woman as far as noticing anything down below.

Use bar soap on your safety glasses then rub them clean. That will help them from fogging up.

Just don't use Lava soap with the pumice in it!

I have been accused of memorizing the eye chart ( I can still read the bottom line), and the Ishihara Color Blindness book.

I nail it every time.

I love the "Big Ass" E. Makes me feel smart. Great place to start on the chart.

Then I'd play dumb & tell the patients there's nothing wrong with the eye chart, ... they're just blind.

Do it to an airline pilot, he'd **** a brick.
